Gaudy valance and upholstery pattern is hideous and it’s everywhere you look. The 80s called and said they want their decor style back. Nice rig otherwise.

The sister companies in LaGrande need to get together and plan out floor plans together. This unit has some features that I like, while ORV also has features that I like. Things like 2 doors on the wardrobe slide instead of 3, etc.

Looks like a great rig! I do question the colors inside, but as an artist I would be picky about that. The cushions and valances have a motel room chair seat look about them because of the pattern. I question the knife storage behind the stove top... seems like a burn accident waiting to happen. But the features and the layout and all the important stuff in the back of a truck, no less, is awesome! Great head and shower. Can it be ordered without the graphics on the sides?

OMG: MSRP is 55K. That's crazy. Drop the price to 25k and I might consider it. The 2025 Northwood Arctic Fox 865 truck camper has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $55,792

I have a AF 992. I added solar and will be going to a new power converter and lithium batteries. My camper came with multiple wires running into the battery box and they all attach to accessory posts on the lead acid batteries. There are also jumper wires connecting the batteries together. How did you get all that to connect to the lithium terminals?

We have a 250A busbar as shown below. Our camper came with solar installed already, but we took off the existing panels and added higher wattage panels and used most of the existing wiring. amzn.to/4g1liYg

Nice to look at. There are SO MANY missed opportunities with this poorly designed, uncreative plan. The underseat drawers: 1 could have been a safe, which you'll need on the road, but it's not. The seat cushions should be a standard size easily replaced because they will wear out fast, but they're not. The corners around the table are wasted space; you could have put in there two corner cabinets for a place to hang big winter coats, but you didn't. The sink is right, but those curtains are going to be filthy fast. There's room for a lot of built-ins around the sink area, but you didn't put in any. The bed mattress could have been over a 5-inch by bed-size space on a raising lid for a lot of underbed storage, but it isn't (and there's no place for fishing poles, long shovel, big umbrella, or skis, all of which could have gone in that storage space under the mattress). The bath could have had molded spaces in the corners into which bottles of cleaning liquids could be stored, but it isn't. A wardrobe that fills the bath space that could swing out on a hinge when the bath is needed could have been ingeniously installed, but it wasn't. I could go on. The designers of this cabin have obviously never lived in one. Nice try AF but there's nothing innovative in this one. Same ol' same ol'. You could do a LOT BETTER. Why don't you?

Mixed feelings. As a tall guy, I love the AF models because they are Tall Guy friendly and I can't fit in many other makers' models. Also, it is clear when you are in AF that they are well made compared to many other mass producers and they are priced well. On the other hand, it is frustrating they use archaic appliances and power systems. With many competitors, it is possible to option 2-3000 watt inverters, lithium batters that are in a heated compartment so they can be charged below freezing, far more efficient heaters and air conditions that can be run off the inverter, an alternator to charge the batteries while driving, induction cooktops, communications systems and proper wiring for use with the inverters - all of which means you can do away with a generator and propane. Those options would add significant cost (partly offset by no need for propane or a generator), but it would be nice to have the option of modern systems, especially an inverter. Meanwhile, AF is still hawking AM/FM radios from the 1980's. I've thought about buying an old AF (as stated, they are well-made and can last a long time) and gutting its systems to put in modern systems, but it would probably be more cost efficient to go to one of the quasi-custom or full-custom manufacturers.

Is that the original Northwood mattress? Do you know what it is made of. I emailed Northwood and their response was springs and foam. Do you think most of it is memory foam ? Thanks for the great videos . Merry Christmas and happy travels.

Yep it's the original - it's a simple spring and foam mattress. I don't think there's any memory foam in it - and if there is it's very little. It's a stiff mattress with a little cushion on top. Merry Christmas to you as well!

Next time you guys are at Niemeyer’s, please have Mitch or Josh show ALL compartments, cabinets and drawers. It would really be helpful to see all the storage opened, both outside and inside. How big is the compartment right underneath the roof ladder. I know this is for an eight ft bed, so I’m wondering how big? I wish I could see these in person, but Indianapolis is over 600 miles away. Also, why is 30 amp connection on passenger / curbside of camper? Thanks.

Thank you for the walk through, I’m heavily debating between a fifth wheel like this or upgrading my 3500 to a 5500 so I can get one of their Arctic Fox truck campers. I noticed the tall storage on the outside was about where the bathroom is so I was hoping to see the storage cabinet inside the bathroom. It would make so much sense to do that instead of a narrow but deep cabinet that you can’t reach the back of for a linen closet. How much?

The only way to remedy the problem with large truck campers is to use a heavier duty truck. 5500 + the payload is too low on the 4500 and under diesel trucks.
@lawrence7065
@lawrence7065 Ай бұрын
The weight distribution hitch makes no sense. There is no way to move weight forward to the steer axle. It moves weight from the tongue to the trailer axles. Prove me wrong.
