I think they should have included the abortion clinic scene, I mean they never showed the actual procedure, the scene of the clinic was self explanatory. I don’t think it would have earned an R rating, teenagers know about abortion anyway. They cut out a pivotal scene that would have given Charlie and Candace’s relationship more depth. Logan did great. Nina is great too but didn’t have enough screen time. I have learned more about them by reading the book.

i really wish they kept in the parts about Candace's abortion, that was a heartbreaking part of the book but it showed their relationship

the poem is one of the biggest missed opportunities, i feel like it was such a strong scene in the book, they should’ve really let that in

Is anyone who’ve seen this or going to see this willing to play this side by side the actually movie (it’s free on KZbin currently as of June 10, 2024) and add time stamps here of where each scene would fit in the actual movie?(…if you are able to decipher it. There might be some scenes that don’t have same setting scenes, iykwim, and you might not know where they’d belong in the final outcome of the movie or what not..idk I haven’t watched this video yet and I don’t want to because k don’t want spoilers.) BUT if anyone can do that that’s be great so I can pull up both the movie and this video side by side and play the clips in this video according to the final product of the movie! Thanks :)

@mckaylamurphy5336Ай бұрын
I wish they kept in the scene with Michael and the one with Susan at lunch and I really wish they kept in the ones with his sister too. They should’ve just kept those and most of these honestly-it wouldn’t have even made the movie much longer and I feel like it would’ve added even more.

It will get better man, try to focus on yourself, relying on other people for happiness rarely leads anywhere good. Find something you can do that allows you to enjoy your own company. Much love from the UK, u got this man :) I believe in you.

I won't lie, after reading the book, i was disappointed by the film. The end still made me cry but only because it brought back emotions from the book. I love the portrayals of Patrick, Charlie, Mary Elizabeth and Bill, and i loved when they were on screen. What makes the book so special is how fleshed out and three dimensional almost every character is, even ones that have hardly any focus in the story. I think this was lost a lot in the film. Charlie's relationship with Bill, Cadance, his father and mother and his family in general was lost, which disappointed me when i watched the film. I also don't like how the context of the first party scene was changed. In the book, they toast to him because they genuinely like him; he isnt shown to mention micheal to sam. This makes the moment so special, particularly when he cries. In the film, Patrick says it after Sam tells him that Charlie has no friends and his friend commited suicide. This makes it seem more like they felt pity than genuine admiration as they did in the book. ALSO the phone call between him and Sam- in the books he gave her time and she forgave him. I don't like that they added the phone call in. There was a lack of chemistry between sam and patrick, too. I think if they kept these scenes in the film would have been SO MUCH BETTER.

I really wish they kept the extended brother scene in bc that tiny conversation we actually got felt too short and not personal enough. This version brings in other elements and is overall just more emotional and sweet

Is the poem at the very end a real poem? Or is it straight from the book and the Author wrote it? It has so much depth i need to know if it's genuine.
@lanatoneto38158 ай бұрын
I read somewhere that it is a real poem wrote by a teenager who commited suicide years ago. If you search "Absolutely Nothing poem" or "The Perks of Being a Wallflower poem" you might find more information about it.

@@lanatoneto3815not quite! It’s actually written by Dr. Earl Reum and is called, “A Person/A Paper/ A Promise,” it was written in 1969! Also, it’s rumored he wrote it after one of his students committed suicide as he became an advocate for mental health
