This is the most interesting topic and you are uncovering great information. The one thing is that somehow around 1975/76, all of the Black Spades speak of the gang colors and signage comimg to an end. This may have been a natural occurrence, or it may have been spurred on by Bambaataa directly. But it seems that most or according to many prominent Black Spades, all of the Bronx gangs stopped wearing the easily identifiable cut off jackets with gang names on the back. Whether Bambaataa is responsible or not, he and the Zulu Nation took advantage of the trend and presented themselves as a highly respected social organization. If that trend had not played out, it is possible that the first hip hop practitioners on TV would have been wearing Black Spade jackets. Now how different would Hip Hop's beginnings have been if, from day one, Hip Hop had been intimately associated as Black Spade culture. So the shuttling of the gang colors in 75 may or may not be due to Bamabaataa but he definitely benefitted from it and so did Hip Hop. Just as with Kool Herc. Even if he is not solely responsible for cutting the breaks, even his detractors say that you "had" to go to the Kool Herc parties if you had any claim to being a b-boy. So Bambaataa deserves to be thought of as a founding father, just for divorcing the culture from color wearing Bronx gangs. As well as Herc deserves his position as a founder just because his parties were the nucleus of Hip Hop and break dance culture. As for the molesting stuff, the law usually sorts that out. It's really a shame however it ultimately turns out.

These interviews are very interesting and well done. I’m from Amsterdam, in The Netherlands and I heard the gay rumors about Afrika Bambaataa back in ‘96. I had a homeboy that was bouncing doors in the city and he told me he saw Bambaataa visiting the gay bars over here. So this was known for a while over here too.

beware of the ""New Normal"" being implemented during and post-C0WID: - the migrational invasion taking place in Europe and the USA (and subsequent 3rdWordification of "the West"); - violation of Fundamental Human Rights and supression of Freedom, and implementation of unconstitutional measures to worldwide citizens; - the banalization (and glamourization) of pervetion, and the legalization of ped*phil*a on board of the LGBTQIA"+" Movement... etc; TRUTH. IS. NEEDED.

All I can do is shake my head. Ronald Savage cannot be trusted. He plays stupid and then he goes behind your back and tries manipulate you and gain the upper hand. I don't think that he truly cares about anybody, but himself in this situation. He will throw almost anybody under the bus as long as the outcome benefits him.

Somehow or another most Americans who grew up on western cowboy movies and superhero comic books didn't morph their respective communities into warzones and turn into gun-toting sociopaths. Music isn't the problem, but it's being used as a distraction and scapegoat in place of spotlighting cultural norms -- norms that would be there, had no one ever made a single Rap song about gangbanging and drug use. At some point, the "our kids are like this because someone else made them that way" needs to get scrapped in place of some personal accountability, and an in depth look into WHY for some odd reason, certain people seem predisposed to criminal lifestyles. I get it though. Placing the blame elsewhere keeps these certain people in a cloud of delusion, and comforts them with the assurance, that they'd all turn into scholars and pillars of their communities, if it wasn't for others victimizing them so dammn much!
