Great pictures!I too have the D850 that I just got earlier this year and hope to get more acquainted with the camera more and have lots of subjects.

Yes I owned one. I sold it after I moved to the Z system along with a D500 and four lenses I no longer used. I have fewer lenses but the Z system lenses are not just better, I can do slow shutter hand held night photography. That is something DSLRs struggle with. No shutter, no mirror slap equals vibration free much more relaxed spontaneous night time street walk photography which was never this much fun before. I liked the D750 but I have moved on from that era.

It's funny ya know. You put up a video on how to shoot waterfalls, then someone decides to tell me their life story about their cameras which has nothing to do with the video!

What a lovely little spot to play. A little cascade that modelled for some waterfall photography beautifully. Enjoy that rain Adrian. My Mum reckons it's a bit needed up that way.

It sounds to me like the Nikon is generally the better lens in good to moderate light. Poor light would give the advantage to the Tamron. That's tough, because it's surprising how many times you want to take pics in poor light... but that price, and size/weight difference, would mean it's Nikon for me.

That is an amazing shot, Adrian. I would have walked by the little waterfall and not even thought of doing a composition with it. You certainly have a talent for this kind of stuff. Thank you again for showing that you can make fantastic photos with mediocre subjects. Also, thank you for showing the world how “older” cameras can give you amazing results even if they aren’t the highest of MPs or the newest toys. Anyway, always a pleasure watching your content.

Unfortunately I did not had enough for the new 50 to 400, so I got the older f mount 100 to 400 with FTZ adapter. I have to say, the older one still works wonderfully.

Its always a hard decision Its often financial Eg do I spend the money to go from a Z6ii to a Z6iii Or do I buy one or two more lenses, eg I'd love the new 50mm 1.4 and or a 24-120mm f4.
@Digmen12 күн бұрын
Yes I am in this position. I have a Z6ii and I would love a Z6iii If I was rich I would buy one tomorrow. But I don't really shoot enough to justify it.

Love my D850, and it's my main camera and is used 90% of the time for stills, but I do think my D800 is better in certain situations. I'm currently looking at a Z6iii primarily for video as the D850 (and D800) are great in a static video situation, but suck for moving/wildlife video so I need that additional Z based video body, but will use the D850 for stills when I can justify 2 bodies at a shoot

Good evening, Your reviews of this Tamron lens are very interesting. However, it would also be interesting to compare it directly to Nikon's Z100-400/4.5-5.6, which is the direct evolution of the 80-400. If you were ever able to compare this Tamron to the Nikon, which lens offers the best background blur at 400mm? And which lens offers the best micro detail and sharpness at 400mm? For versatility and magnification ratio, the Tamron seems to win out, but what about image crispness? Thanks for your feedback

@@dogsbyfireI’m about to pick up a used Nikon Z6 with 50mm f1.8. I’m just wondering what a good lens is to complement it with for travel. Everyone recommends the 24-120 but I’m not really a zoom lens person and dislike heavy lenses. I also need the versatility to be able to switch quickly to portraits as my holidays are usually with friends or family. Glad to see someone with a prime lens set up.

Getting some new glass to use on it is also getting less expensive at this point. So yes, I'm interested in one. I know that Z8, Z9 are better but, for me the 850 would be more than good enough...
