That was fun to watch! I have a couple questions. What does your rod specs, reel ratio, and line looked like on the chad shad set up. Also do you like how it swims? I was under the impression it was more of a chop glide. Thanks -.Rick
@fuhriousfishing Жыл бұрын
It’s a chopping style glide but works really well slow or fast just because it is a chopping glide doesn’t mean you have to move it quickly. Chopping glides simply work more like jerkbaits than anything. So in this video I gave it long pauses and fished it slow due to the colder weather. Hotter it gets the faster I work it. Rod is a cashion swimbait 7’10” rod for 1-6oz rating with a Daiwa tatula 300 7.3:1. Lastly I love how it swims I can burn and pause it very nicely and make it glide pretty wide and slow or fast and tight. It’s my go to glide currently

Hello sir! Love your off-shore content. Been watching the channel for over half a year now. What would you recommend off-shore wise if I don't have a livescope? I have a 9 inch Garmin with side scan and all that, but I struggle to know what to do when the fish go deep. Keep doing your thing man!
@fuhriousfishing Жыл бұрын
I will say I did it for years without livescope and could still catch em. Maybe not as good and maybe I wasted a bit more time on spots or just missed the honey holes. I still use my downscan and side scan more than anything when looking for fish offshore. I could send you a ton of graph screenshots showing fish on the bottom or suspended that I’ve turned around and caught right after graphing for them. Falls specifically on the ledges side scan works better than down bc they’re 10ft deep or less in spots where if I graphed over them I have a higher likelihood to scare off those fish. Graph locates the general area and you can get away with just that. If you have livescope it just helps you make the right cast to the most fish or single fish every time. If you want more details, pictures or descriptions reach out on my other social media pages where we can have a private message or chat where I can go in depth for ya.
@fuhriousfishing Жыл бұрын
Also, if you don’t have a heading sensor on your boat that will drastically improve your offshore game. Being able to mark a spot, turn around and point the boat exactly at that spot and having range rings turned on allows you to pinpoint your exact distance for roughly how far you need to cast. I know it’s a bit of a lengthy response but hopefully that will answer a few questions for ya

@fuhriousfishing Жыл бұрын
It’s a fun lake outside of tournament fishing. Still has some big ones in it but is a shell of its former self in terms of giants. The only reason it’s not liked by tournament guys is the slot limit. Sucks having 20lbs but not being able to keep a single fish… I only know bc I’ve done it so many times in the spring. Catch a good bag and they’re all 19 3/4” but not over that 20” mark
@fuhriousfishing Жыл бұрын
But don’t worry about tournaments none of the trails really go there anymore after the numerous fish kills that happened and the last tournament I fished there had 2 fish weighed in the entire tournament if I remember right. Sorry for the delayed response but there’s only 2-3 baits I’ll ever throw on a spinning rod. Shaky head that I make 3/16oz, drop shot 1/4oz weight is good for all around 20ft or less, and a wacky rig which I hardly ever throw so it was either a dropshot or that shaky head.

Whats the difference ?
@fuhriousfishing Жыл бұрын
@@huntercampbell8985 basically ones injected plastic the other is resin. Resin bait stays stable a bit better on chops only because the plastic bait has the tendency to nose up at the end of a glide or movement. It’s very slight but it’s there. Besides that I think they both glide great but the plastic will just be a more consistent bait straight out of the package. Not sure which is more durable but you couldn’t tell I smacked a bunch of dock posts with it the other day so I’d say that’s another thing. I’d imagine if they were biting one they would bite the other simply bc they have similar actions. You’d be happy with either if that chopping style is what you wanted

Somehow missed this comment. If you watch the rest of my vids you’d know I mix it up quite a bit. Glide baits with scope or no scope. Do I catch more with it? Yes. Still takes skill to make the right cast to the right fish and I’ve seen more fish swim away from a bait then bite and have caught plenty without it. Won more money in tournaments with an elite ti2 on a 2012 nitro than with active target. Its just the new thing and I’m enjoying it and I bet you would to or you’d learn a lot by using it. Hope you caught some nice ones this year and god bless!
