Bummed dude ☹️. Was totally stoked for you being up so high at the start! Something tells me this won’t be the last time you’ll have an opportunity like that though 👊🏻. At least you spun because you were faster than the guy ahead 😎.

For me personally, I would have avoided trying to pass Scott (#33) in turn 5. 5 and 4 are so tight that even if you go through them 2-wide cleanly, anyone that goes through single file will be faster. After turn 4 is the second longest straight, so my biggest priority of this sequence is exit speed coming out of 4. + the fact that you know you’ll be faster than Scott in a straight line. You can get in line behind him and focus on drag racing him from the exit of 4 to the turn in of 3 Look at Thomas (#12) going through turn 6. He could have squeezed in behind #33 but stayed behind you, went through the turn single file, and had a higher exit speed to beat you and #33 to turn 5

Agree with everything you said. Need to find the right balance between playing safe vs being aggressive in different situations. Appreciate the feedback!
@baranusluel

Being on the outside of turn 4 is dangerous, I suffered the same as you know. One thing I’m seeing is that since you weren’t able to fully complete the move on Scott with turn 5 and he still had his nose in there, at that point it’s clear (at least in retrospect) that he was going to hold the inside. On the entry of 4 you were kind of mid track instead of coming from further wide, which meant Scott had to dive really deep. At that point he would have had to scrub his front tires and lose momentum to avoid getting in your line, which he won’t want to do. So I think what both of us should have done in this situation is get all the way on to the rumble strips at the entry of 4 and turn in from there, going for a later apex, safer exit (rather than one where a nudge is enough to push us off), and be willing to concede the spot to survive

Understand the concern, but calling it an abuse is a bit extreme 😅 it was either (a) we take her with us for a week (to enjoy the outdoor activities at Denver), or (b) we pay $100+ per day at these pet lodging places just for her to be stuck in a crate with only a few potty breaks + they wanted us to pay extra if we wanted her to get extra walks in small groups 😂 between these 2 options, I'd say the latter is more abusive

Hey man it happens, no big deal. All I would’ve done differently is be behind the person doing the overtaking. A lot of times if you’re close enough to their back bumper when they do the overtake, you can get into that spot as well before the door shuts on you. Head tap is a signal to work together to bump draft and not take defensive lines or pass aggressively. Two karts bump drafting that work together are faster than one. It helps to catch karts ahead (especially if you see them battling), build a gap, or use in qualifying.

I think your rollercoaster technique needs some fixing. Specifically the jerk in the wheel is losing you a lot of time at the bottom (you can see the cart sliding). Input has to be smooth or you lose all the speed you had making you vulnerable on the straight. Fixing that will easily save you a couple of tenths Imo one of the hardest sections to get right in this direction
@waynekwon91
@waynekwon91 Жыл бұрын
So basically slow down enough so that my rear is not sliding and get back on gas quicker with smoother steering input? When do you get back on the gas? As you hit the kerb? I'm thinking maybe I need to go a bit wider before the rollercoaster too ...😅
@dhruvb38
@dhruvb38 Жыл бұрын
@@waynekwon91 Yea, depending on the weather and grip level and kart, a slight lift on the throttle (like 20% or less) to create rotation, then right before the bottom, back on full. In good weather and kart, you can do it without lifting. If you wanna ride the kerb on the bottom, you have to hit it right or you'll upset the balance.You have to take it before the bottom of the dip IMO. Almost take the whole kerb at the bottom.
