The girth of a tree can be used to estimate its age, as roughly a tree will increase it's girth by 2.5cm in a year. So, simply measure around the trunk of the tree (the girth) at about 1m from the ground. Make sure you measure to the nearest centimetre. Then divide the girth by 2.5 to give an age in years.

You have no idea how many times I played on a rock like this when I was a kid. I don’t know if this is the same rock, but the one I played on was in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Ga. This brings back a lot of great memories ❤ I have pictures of me standing on the rock. I also used to go gold panning with my dad in Dahlonega Ga and one time I found some pretty cool caves. 😁❤️
