Would heating the tube assist in bending the tube easier?

In theory, it could, however it depends how hot you heat the steel. The former it is bending around is aluminium, which has a much lower melting point than the steel. Also, it would be quite awkward and fiddly to put the hot steel in the clamp etc. The only heating we normally recommend is annealing aluminium.

@@usefultoolsukI used light heat on SS sheets that i formed, such as arches or many round shapes, and it reduced spring back almost 90%, which made it easier to from. I didnt know if this would apply to tube and forming.

At £155 for the standard and £185 for the bead ST tool for a once off job is a bit stiff.Will make my own for much cheaper.

Immediately bend the tube after annealing or can wait for it to cool down? Also what kind of tube bender you use?

You can let it cool down. You can use any bender - the annealing is just to remove the hardness so it doesn't crack when bending.

@@usefultoolsuk I annealed using the soap method with a propane torch and still all my aluminum tubes cracked . I purchased the MK-5, I live in the United States, I acquired my tubes from Ace Hardware store. Could my aluminum be inferior?

Hi Jose. I am afraid it will not work with 2mm wall thick tube. 16 swg is the maximum thickness, 18 swg in steel. Hola, José. Me temo que no funcionará con un tubo de pared de 2 mm de espesor. 16 swg es el espesor máximo, 18 swg en acero.

I don't know why these tools are so expensive, even the ones from China are like £150. Why has nobody made cheaper alternatives? It's not like it's a complicated tool.

Give it time. 15 years ago, arch flaring tools were over £250 and before that you had to pay someone to come out to flare your arches as the tool wasn't available domestically.. I bought one two years ago for £20 delivered
