He already had “The Big Picture” ready to go. He could have released this recording of it and it would have been perfect.

Man he has some beautiful lyrics and songs, but this one is a dark ugly one and I fucking love this era of BE. I grew up with parents that had opiate problems and routinely they would have to go thru withdrawal and it would just fill the house with a layer of sorrow. Typically the house would also be trashed at the time just adding to the feeling of horrific unreality. This song song like 'Ethan Frome' captures that feeling quite well.

yeah, for me it's the darkest one he wrote, it's one of my favorite B E songs

He did. It was available for free download a couple of weeks before Casadaga came out back in 2007. It was on the website thisisbrighteyes.com

Didn't know Jim Carrey could sing that good! Fuckin' hell this song is awesome! Been discovering Conor Oberst solo stuff now. I just listened to his Here's To Special Treatment cassette. A 13 year old boy with genius lyrics!

Holy what the heck!?!?!? This song is freaking georgous!!!! OMG I watched this movie half a dozen times and this time I was watching the credits listening for maybe the closing song. And then this song came on!! It was the first time I've ever heard it and I really couldn't believe it, it is so well constructed, the harmonies are amazing, the guitar work reminds me of a blend between the cure and The Smiths, but there's also traces of the Sundays and the Cocteau twins. I don't know that I've ever done it before maybe once, but I just stopped the song during the credits and I had to figure out who was and then I came to the internet to see if I could buy their album! And this is all I can find. was it a pickup band, a couple of songs written and then they broke up right? It's a shame, their sound was superb.

You have to be different to enjoy their music.. but now.. being emotional is played over a trap beat and it's cool.. was I born in the wrong decade?

Around /88 years ago i was deep into drugs/booze and i listened to this song on repeat whilst in recovery. Im back in booze/drugs and trying to my way back in, listening to this song repeat to find the energy to get back into recovery. Means a lot. Im sure conors songs have touched many hearts. Im rambling; but i hope if youre struggling and reading this that you can find some peace.

I paid $20. Let's not kid ourselves. These are not GREAT headphones, but not bad for $20. I find the sound fairly accurate but rather "tinny" overall (not warm). For me, they start feeling a bit uncomfortable after 30-45 minutes. I just upgraded my headphones and will give my TH-02's to my girlfriend.

Living is a tragedy Having to count on someone for your heart and feelings, living just to struggle, being born just to die one day, losing your mother, brother, sister, pain is just waiting at the end your bed, momentarily happiness.
@cerb12213 жыл бұрын
this may be true, but we only have one shot at life. the struggle is worth it, even if none of it matters in the end you might as well have as much fun and help others to do the same. much less a tragedy and more a bittersweet story of life.

Love is real It is not just in novels or the movies It is fact And it is standing here right in front of you So if you open your eyes Oh what a sweet discovery There is hope, and there is joy, and there is acceptance So now let all of the light that collects on your plants Keep you warm, make you smile And I will be there with this pen in my hand To record all the while You'll be laughing so loud That the house would shake with sound And everything will be as new as the day it was found Love is real It is not just in long distance commercials Or something that you thought you felt back in high school So I will turn black and white Become that horoscope you're reading It predicts something good is on its way Oh, and then I will send you the world green and blue In a box through the mail You can open it up, hold it right in your hand And be glad that it's there And be glad that you're there Now, you can feel all the knots in your stomach start to untie And suddenly it's not so hard to say you're all right Love is real It is not just in poetry and stories It is truth, and it will follow you Everywhere you go from now on So if you'd just cast off your doubt Then your lips would answer for you Oh my darling, when you smile, it is like a song And I can hear it now And I can hear it now And I can hear it now Yes, I can, I can, I can I can hear it now I can hear it now Yeah, I can, I can, I can I can hear it now I can hear it now I can hear it now Yeah, I can, I can, I can I can hear it now I can hear it now
