Had VR for a little over 8 months now (Rift-S) the best experience i'va had on it so far was hl2-2006, GTAV-2013, rdr2-2018, and resident evil 2. i've spent around $500 on actual VR games, yet those weren't my favourite, my favourites were the free-mods for already exisisting games in my oldies folder. Now that's with Rockstar, Capcom not even trying.

Lootboxes can be addictive like everything else. People who have an affinity for addiction should take precautions or play something else. But the vast majority of players don't have this problem and shouldn't be restricted in the way they pay for their entertainment.

Totally agree. I where thinking that some companies couldve put a deposit limit for those who cannot controll their spendings, just like some online casino does. That would solve some part of a problem at least, but I guess non would do it, as it is for sure going to decrease profit in online product.🙃

Yup, you're right that free-to-play players can eventually get the toons they want, but it can take enourmous amount of time that the most of the people dont't really have. In Short: AI is smart but just sees information as equally valid no matter what is presented. So if you tell two different AI two statements such as “Hitler is bad” which is what most of us sane people believe Or “Hitler is good” which is what some people genuinely believe They are going to develop differently with that information depending on if they have any pre-programmed responses/information beforehand The reason I used that example is that a lot of AI bots get mass spammed with Neo-Nazi talking points by Neo-Nazis though ChatGPT actually has restrictions preventing making their bot Anti-Semitic, Anti-LGBT etc

I think so and it would be wise to focus more on the racing genre, as race and flight sims are a perfect fit for the medium. Games played while standing have a myriad of problems that make it feel unnatural, but racing and piloting is pure gold. I hope sony or third party releases a vr chair with haptic feedback (maybe even motion, but that would make the price skyrocket) to be compatible with games and movies.

Actually, Unreal 1 did what Half Life 1 did a few months earlier. You go through a full world without going into a cutscene and keeping immersion high at all times.
@zanzarand3 жыл бұрын
That's true. But in my opinion Valve made a step further with adding environmental puzzles as a gameplay felt much more rich at that time. Plus in my view it was the first “shooter blockbuster”, I had a feeling of being in a movie rather than playing a classical shooter. There was a nice shooter before Half Life like Doom, Wolfeinstein, Quake, Turok…. But none of them gave me this level of immersion. As well, I prefer Valve engine for shooter, although spent many hours playing Unreal Tournament! :)
@CharcharoExplorer3 жыл бұрын
@@zanzarand Unreal 1 also had puzzles. It even is longer and has lore too - though most of it is to be read or observed. I can agree that Half Life made it more cinematic and I respect that, but now 23 years later we can see that making games like movies was a big mistake and a massive downgrade compared to making games like books / like games. IMHO - you owe it to yourself to try Unreal 1 with the unofficial patch and Unreal Evolution mod. You will see what I mean. Its a GOAT shooter, easily equal to DOOM Eternal or Half life (it is in between those in terms of realism) but for some reason it is under the radar.

@@CharcharoExplorer I cannot agree with you on that. Witcher 3 feels like a movie (or actually series) but still have many nice moments in gameplay and very interesting complex world. I assume the problem is that publishers force the developer to release a very raw product with a lack of content, world elaboration, quality etc. And unfortunately, there is to many examples… Today the industry is A Billion $ market where studios work like a machine rather than a creative company. And it is very pity that studios choose to make some multiplayer product instead of a nice single player adventure. Titles that we talked about was developed by real enthusiast who wanted to make a great game and not Bank account. ;) And thank you for recommendation! I'll check it when I'm going to have some spare time.

@@zanzarand The Witcher mostly feels like a book to me since unlike a movie, it has the lenght and girth to show more than only what is the most important for the plot/characters. I agree on the rest, but I disagree on that point. Let games be games. The greatest movies ever made, things like Come and See, Schindler's List, The Godfather, Solaris... they are not something gaming can match. At least not if gaming wants to copy movies -> at best it will be an inferior copy. Literature is even greater than cinema, its top tier works on a level MUCH higher than anything even cinema has, let alone gaming. But it is also easier to adapt to games. Still not optimal to just copy paste from books I'd say, since that is still imitation, but at least you are copying from the best. But the games I love, things like SOMA, DOOM, STALKER, Prey, Talos Principl... they are proud of being games. They also try to do things other mediums cannot do but better -> they attempt being their own thing. I hope you like it. Unreal 1 is a GOAT. I also like your video, just wanted to get this out of my system. I am a Half Life fan too :P
