The block name is a pinwheel or at least a rendition of one. It’s cute and very cheerful.

My daughter lives in Norway so you see Hardanger in kitchen decor and home decor. It’s also seen in Norwegian costumes etc. very pretty. I’ve never tried it but now you’ve enabled me😊 I think ornaments would be fun to make. The project for your mother is gorgeous!!!

I love cross stitch too and one day I hope to do Mirabilia's Snow Queen and her mermaids. Nora Corbet who designs Mirabilia is the daughter of the lady that designed Lavendar & Lace. I think I seen some Lavendar and Lace patterns in your last video. I loved seeing your collection and have a lot myself. Congratulations! You are a member of the SABLE Society. (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy) I have some old magazines in a big tote and recognized the one with a Flower Shop on the cover. I enjoy watching book flip -thru's and WIP (works in progress) PARADES but I wouldn't want so many projects going at one time. Some have close to 100 projects they rotate. I like seeing their haul too and some people don't. Many of them quilt also. Punch Needle is also making a big comeback. Did you do that back in the day? For finishing ideas I like to watch Vonna Pfeiffer, the Twisted Stitcher. She does such nice work. I think she has a playlist of finishing tutorials. Helen D is another Flosstuber that generously shows how to finish projects. I hope to do a pin drum one day. Show more of those patterns anytime. I'll tune in.

I'm so happy to hear that you love to see patterns. I certainly have more! I've never tried a Mirabilia design, but I do love them. Thank you for all the ideas! I don't know how to do punched needle, but I am intrigued by it. I love new suggestions.

I love cross stitch!! I stitch most days when I’m not sewing or quilting. My first thought was the ornament coordinates with the Shabby Fabric Christmas House wall hanging you’re working on. Maybe you’ll have to make you one as well!!!

Your cross stitch is way too beautiful, that’s one thing I never got involved in. With zillion of hobbies that I still enjoy. My girls own the P Buckley Moss prints and have been at some of her signings back in the day. She does awesome work. I do buy the embroidery floss because I like to handstitch certain size quilts called the big stitch that I sit and do at night. I like to do wool appliqué, but sometimes I have to give it up because it makes my fingers/ hands hurt. Please keep showing us crafters all your talents. Thank you 🪡🧵✂️🇺🇸

It’s beautiful!!! I love old houses too!! I lived in one for 15 years and yes, the cost of heating and cooling was significant!! This quilt may be detailed but when it’s finished, you will love it!!!!

Asking how the kit thread was wound? Does matter when sewing. I’ve had thread as 30 years old and works wonderfully. Needle size? Just a thought. Some sewing machine and wound types of threads don’t work as well. Verticals wrap or spiral? Sometimes just use a coffee cup behind machine to hold spool. And it’s greatly possible you got a bag of bad thread. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your mini Christmas quilt. Happy sewing.🪡🧵✂️

I didn't consider the needle size. I feel like it was bad thread.

I've been quilting for over 10 years and it takes time to afford the gadgets we love. Why would someone care if you use scissors or a rotary cutter? No need to answer that. Some of my favorite rulers/templates. I have a Stripology ruler and love it. I hate when I end up with those "elbows" where the strip isn't straight. I also love all my Creative Grid rulers too but I won't buy the flying geese one since I'm very very happy with QIAD original flying geese. I know she came out with an all sizes in one but like I said, I love the original set. Wish I knew about Creative Grids before I bought other brands. I also have QIAD square up rulers. I started out watching Eleanor Burns and Nancy Zieman on PBS before You Tube. I learned a lot from them. My other item I love and I'm using it on my current product is the Bloc Loc ruler for my flying geese. I love how they etch out where the seam is so it doesn't rock. They're very pricey too but takes a lot of stress out of trimming the flying geese to size since I like them oversized a bit while constructing. What are some of your favorite quilting rulers & tools?

do you use a add a quarter ruler to fold paper back on line and trim before you put next piece on?
@lindadenton743110 күн бұрын
also why do you leave some of the extra strips under the other strips?
@cottagedesignsbyerin454810 күн бұрын
You can. I use the 1990 1/4 inch ruler.
@cottagedesignsbyerin454810 күн бұрын
I do it just to make sure it is not too short abd gets caught in the seam allowance.
@donnarichey14410 күн бұрын
It shows you can do with out regular rulers and scissors for those can't afford to buy all at once. It would be easier with the tools, but shows you can get it done well this way. Thank you for sharing how to do this.

This mystery box was fantastic!! I always love Kaffe fabrics, they are great and the color and designs are so beautiful. For a more traditional look, I really like William Morris fabrics too. There were only a couple of pieces in the box that I would probably not use unless I found someone wanting them, then I would give them away. You got a lot of great fabric for a very reasonable price for quality quilting fabrics these days.

These are for embroidery frames for the Bernia and embroidery machine usually it’s a sewing/ embroidery combo machine. The plastics go with sized hoops these are used to align your fabric, your interfacing, and make sure that your design is centered and located properly in that hoop. You need to find your friend and ask him if he found the machine that goes with, that’s a lot of fun for you’d would thoroughly enjoy it
