Hey Ro! The draw is coming really nice and you can see where Jelly is really starting to connect. He's still a bit sticky in the send, so I'd continue to work at freeing him up a bit. He's still quite spatial at times. That will clear up a bit when he gets a bit more free motion. The balance of draw and send at the 13 minute mark was nice! You may find that he commits a bit more once you free him up. The halter work on the left is really coming along. He's still a bit disconnected on the right eye, so you may have to focus on the draw a bit more. He definitely seems less nibbly with the halter on. He's starting to follow a feel and soften through his head and neck which is a good start! As he becomes more sensitive to the mind/space balance, you should be able to take that deeper into his shoulders and hips. Nice work!

Hey Ro, here are comments: When you first start and it feels like he's quite focused on the grass, it's ok to reach out with your stick and touch him. You want to have him change his thought a bit sooner. If you need to move him to get him to put a bit more effort into you, then that's ok! Once you have motion, he seems much more engaged in the conversation with you which means you've touch on his primary need! Nice work! For your draw, try to engage into him and apply a little pressure instead of backing away. Part of why he gets a bit strong when you go to change direction is that he's feeling like he's moving you. This is the challenge with space horses. Because they don't have a problem pushing through space, if we back our feet and energy, they can interpret it as if we were yielding to them. At a bit around the 9 minute mark, he really got quite chatty with you about changing his thought. He does have a hard time letting go. The kicking and running around is an expression of that. It's important to gently keep the pressure on until he changes his thought so that he begins to recognize that the pressure of you asking him to change his mind doesn't go away when he escalates. It's important that he learns that there's a thoughtful answer to every request. At shortly after the 10 minute mark, I would have recommended that you start your draw work again as his eye is starting to creep out of the pen a bit more. It's a balancing act between the send and the draw with these guys. As he gets more free in his motion, he could be interpreting things as mentally leave. Try to ensure you're balancing both the send and the draw. Also, there are times in your video where your body position is pointing towards his nose. This will keep him out on the rail, but may also be contributing to why he's a bit more eyes out in your motion work. Try to play with your balance. Move your body and energy back towards his hip a bit so that you can let him bend in a bit more and see what happens. The homework would be to start into the space horse videos. Rewatch the "Where do I start" video to observe the balance between draw and send. Get to the place where you can maintain the free motion, while activating the draw so that he begins to carry himself a bit more. Once you have a bit more of a balance between the draw and the send, then put your halter on and see if you can maintain the soft motion with a connected eye! From there, you can start touching the lead rope to relax his topline.
