I was wondering how could this be Mehedi Hassan! It is an imperfect rendering by some much inferior performer though, could resemble him in voice but not in qaida or gayaki. Still not a bad one as an independent piece!

How soulfully did the great Khan Saab perform it ! Here, in this ghazal, it was as if the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had infused life into the beautiful lafz of the shayar with the exact feel, as depicted in the kalam, owing to his magical voice and inimitable style of gayiki ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it thoroughly ! "Bahut Hi Sukun Mila Sunkar !" What's so special with the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he had an uncanny ability to catch the imagination of the listeners, while performing, by casting a web around them and carrying them with the rhythm, owing to his magical voice and inimitable style of gayiki ! He had cast such a spell on me that it will be difficult to get out of it during this lifetime ! A singer of the caliber and brilliance of the great Khan Saab is born only once in a millennium ! Many singers will come and go but the one and only Mehdi Hasan always live, the most admiring Ghazal singing standards set by Khan sahib will be followed by every ghazal singer. The biggest contribution was his Urdu accent , each and every word came out like diamond chiseled , he made many Urdu ghazals and poets immortal. God gave him a best place in the eternal world.
