I am very grateful with people who upload these videos … it’s a chance for me to reminisce of those magical nights where I was happy … this is one of those, thanks.

There's a fantastic tribute album with some truly fantastic covers. Ones with twists. No disrespect but this one is kind of lifeless. Check out " For the Masses" 1998

It takes a lot of balls to take on a such a loved, revered and iconic song like theis, and THEN to actually SLAY IT!

I was at the Riot Fest show and this totally came out of left field. Such a beautiful cover, it actually drove me to tears hearing it. Amazing weekend overall but Postal Service and Death Cab were some of the highlights.

Was at the Boston show on Wednesday night, loved this song and it sounded familiar but I couldn't figure out what it was, and it turns out it wasn't a Death Cab song I feel so dumb now that I'm realizing it was Depeche Mode lol

I was at this show last week and it was absolutely incredible. I was in like the "10th row". the whole show was amzing, including and especially Lauren Mayberry from CHVCHES.

I was there the following night. Chills during this song! It sounds so great as a five piece where none of the instruments have to drop live.

Great show and a solid finish. Crowd was loving it, and they were having fun on stage. Armchair analysts are going to make noise, but its part of why Postal and Death Cab worked. They were earnest and emotional even in the face of criticism.

This is what creative bankruptcy sounds like. "Derrr hey guys, let's cover the most covered song ever!" They should be f*cking embarrassed.

So true, if only one of the people covering this was capable of, say, single handledly carrying a sold out double headline show with 2 orignal LPs released in the same year still being celebrated by new generations 20 years later. Dude is BANKRUPT! DEVOID OF ORIGINALITY!

His voice is amazing for this song. Postal service cover with proper in studio stylistic changes could make it superior to the original to which I would say failures version is on par with out of many imitators

Sometimes you have to live in the momennt, and it was a nice closer. With hindsight, we could dissect this bonus track from our armchairs at length, but I was actually there and they seemed thrilled to play it and I do not look to DCFC to reinvent many wheels for me, I just like the way they sound out of the packaging.

NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING comes even close to the original Depeche Mode Enjoy the Silence or any other DM song for that matter... Definitely does not make it superior to the original... I can clearly see that you are not a DM fan... Dave's voice is the best voice ever for any DM song, nobody comes even close......

@@danielthommen8243 nah I think it’s more of a true dm fan to branch out and be able to compare/contrast different styles and moods. That’s why the covers and remixes online are so fun, Martins songs have all these twists and turns in their meanings … ETS is just their main commercial hit and I personally think Postal Service electro emo folk vibe is maybe the perfect fit for the lyrics

They played that really straight. Ngl i was disappointed with the arrangement. Not creative and didn't really make it unique to their sound. I was waiting for a bridge or cadenza which never came.

Lol the wikipedia entry for DM lists Pop as their 2nd genre. Imagine looking to the Mode for your rock quota, what a trip! The sheer AUDACITY of an electronic pop outfit covering another electronic pop outfit faithfully, the fact that they didn't interpolate or jam out (did some dude really use the word 'credenza' in his comment here?) is unforgiveable. Tamborello should have just done a dubstep remix of it, from the sound of all these high pitched whines I am hearing!
