I'm not sure we needed a new Beatles song. But now that it's here, I'm overjoyed that you started working on it. Such a fabulous project and well worth waiting for, if you ask me. Terrific, Arvin!

Thanks for listening! This was actually the first Beatles song I've ever been able to hear on the day it was released, so that was an interesting experience...My dad lived through Beatlemania and I'm just glad I can say the same decades later. On the musical front, it's been interesting learning from tabs, chord charts, animated piano youtube videos & music sheets for this one! I am definitely out of my comfort zone.

Thank you! I actually didn't care for the song when I first started and was only going to do a couple verses and a chorus. I now really dig the song and am going to learn the violin parts and re-do some of the other stuff for another video when I get back from vacation since I think I can do better.

Thanks! I actually decided to learn some of the strings parts on the chorus & solo last night, so I'll remix & re-edit this. It's quite a fun song to study as a whole. I'm feel quite proud of it. I feel it's a bit of a shame that everyone's too focused on the current season to have given this a listen though.
@Renaissance-Man-Ukulele24 күн бұрын
@@arvincharles That’s how the Seasons generally work. A new Season naturally means a new focus. You should be pleased with it, because you did well. I don't recognize the song as a Beatles song. It's a synthetically contrived song. My wife gushed about it, but I think she was just supporting my interests as a Beatles fan. This has no reflection on your interests or cover. I'd like to hear your remix, when it's ready.
@arvincharles24 күн бұрын
@@Renaissance-Man-Ukulele It's not my favorite Beatles tune going into it, but I've now lived with this song since Saturday and I've come to really appreciate everything that went into it. It's really not much different than Freddie Mercury leaving songs for his bandmates to finish. I feel like it's a legitimate Fab Four song since it does have all the members playing on the record. As far as the seasons, it is what it is. A lot more attention is paid to songs that are quickly done and posted. While there's nothing wrong with that approach, little mistakes I've made will bug me if / when I revisit my entries. So, I absolutely try to do it to the best of my abilities at the time of the recording. This one is not even a week old and I'm already revising and improving upon it. lol. Personally speaking...As a musician, I feel like that's kind of the point that's missed on the seasons. Seeing everyone grow. We'll hardly see that if all we post are rushed covers. Even just going from a Day 1 take to a Day 4 take, there's a world of difference imho.

Same here! I'm having so much fun creating these and I'm trying to get more musicians on board with these collabs, but the 8 day deadline & the long process for one song makes it slow going. Fun fact, I almost sent this to Joo at the same time as Andrew, but I realized I wouldn't have the time to get both done. Ah, I'll add that to my "liner notes." And yeah, the end footage is what my girlfriend sees whenever I'm recording in the evenings. I look ridiculous without any sound. Hahaha! Side note, we were watching too much of The Voice lately, so I used some Adobe Stock flash transitions like they did...Because why not? My work already paid for them.

I know I would have never thought to do it Del's way and I'm guessing he wouldn't have thought to do it the way I did, either.
@DelGriffiths2 ай бұрын
Sadly, I don’t have your level of uke-playing talent to do it like this, Arvin! So I compensate in other ways, and we end up with two different and equally exciting and relevant versions of the same classic song. And we all have a lot of fun in the process. And even better - we intensely annoy the uke purists, who think the instrument should only be used and played in the traditional way. Keep doing what you do! :-)
@arvincharles2 ай бұрын
@@DelGriffiths that is so wild cause I consider my uke playing to be quite basic and I actually compensate in a similar way...Add more of the same stuff in different octaves and then add harmonies on top of that (thirds, fourths or fifths usually). I also find it odd that a lot of uke players have an aversion to electric playing whereas they're totally fine with a banjo or guitalele.
