Just fished the canals off of Tropicana and there was a bunch of dead bass, peas and turtles.

Can you recommend any public lake or waterway in cape coral i can fish peacock bass? I live in st pete where there no peacock. I can drive down there on day off?
@thebigmanbassing2 ай бұрын
All of Cape Coral’s freshwater chains have Peas, as we get into the colder months the bite changes cause they hate the cold and water temps of 70 and lower can be lethal to them so I always recommend to plan your trip with good weather.

Your videos are my new favorite! I am local to the same area of Florida and I searched "Cape Coral Fishing" and you popped up! Crazy that you talk about Washington State cause that's where I came from to get here, lol! If you ever get up there you gotta go fly fish the Little Naches River area, it's a classic. Subscribed!!!

Cool vid. I used to live in North Fort Myers near the Publix on Hancock Bridge & Orange Grove (right on the edge of Cape Coral). I used to fish the what I called the "Target Pond" right behind the Super Target on Pine Island. It's where I first started fly fishing. I caught a bass on the first fly I tied (what I called a bobble-head clouser, no weighted eyes, just stick on eyes and lots of resin). Bass and bluegill would hit topwater flies regularly and surprisingly it didn't appear to have much fishing pressure. The area around the pond was kept mowed and I never saw a snake the 6 or so years i fished it. I miss having a decent fishing spot close to my house. I could fish there (1.8 miles from home)or drive 2 miles and drop my kayak into yellow fever creek and fish for snook, juvi tarpon,mayan cichlids in the winter/spring when the lake Okeechobee wasn't dumping millions of fresh water into the Caloosahatchee...
