One flaw with the manufacture of my snare (bought in the 80's) was that the screws holding the lugs were not long enough, only extending into the 'bosses' of the lugs, thus making it more likely for the boss to break off of the lug (which happened). The screws should have been longer to continue into the main part of the lug which would prevent the boss from breaking due to the stress from tightening the drum head..

Yo they look like they’re in pretty good shape for the age honestly. Like I assume they maybe just sat unplayed in an attic for a few decades, and then finally wound up at good will when someone died or moved.

That might be a Slingerland. My dad had one from 63 that he gave me for graduating high school. And it had his original Bass Drum. Those look like the same exact hardware and Hoop. His was an orange Sparkle finish.

Listed $250. Ended up being from 1983. Sizes 24 13 14 18 plus the Acrolite. 6 8 10 Rototoms. 13” Zildjian New Beat hi hat 18 A Rock crash Cracked 18 Zildjian China Cymbal stands and throne. Not bad for $270 out the door after taxes.
