I remember being a little as kid I’m talking like 6 years old going through PlayStation Home I remember those mini games made to advertise bigger games like siren blood curse and uncharted 3 I went through it religiously until I got more games and forgot about it then one day I saw it years later and decided to see if anything changed and learned they shut it down and it utterly killed me I’m not brave enough to go through the steps to try and play it again because I’m worried I’ll screw up my PS3 but I have my memories and that’s enough for me Maybe one of these days I’ll finally come home

How to download PlayStation Home from scratch, or is it a 40 MB file?

I'm glad a lot of the commenters have experienced playing PS Home. I played it when I was in high school, roughly 2010. I had a PS3 Fat 60GB model. I made friends on it that I have added on Facebook. I'm doing this tutorial now on my modded PS3 Slim. Its super nice to get back into this! EDIT: I just had to update to the latest custom firmware 4.91 and generate a custom password to log in to PS Network, but everything worked! I even have my old stuff like the full hamster suit and some game unlocks! Holy moly.

Still doesn't work for me though, same network error, although RPCS3 says I successfully logged into RPCN. Even with cloudfare. Figured out: I had my country set to my home country, set to US and solved.

Man I thought you meant it was in the steam store. Man if only it were true.

Back when I submitted my cache data, I made sure to submit it to both DH and yourself, to ensure the best odds of long term preservation. I've watched them strip public cache from view over time as you've shown. With how fragile game preservation is I think that's the wrong move. Thank you for being open about all of this, I hope there's a solution somewhere in the near future because ego has no place to be in the way of historical archival.

Can you play psh on ps3 on cfw?

I dislike the division of the people who play Playstation Home. The point of Home was always to bring gamers together. Not drive a wedge between them. Which is why I also dislike fams/gangs on Home. Why create competition and division in a setting where it serves no purpose and benefits no one. The assignment should be simple enough. All hands on deck. Everyone pitch in as much cached data they have for the ideal revival. Clear and concise instruction. No need for separate Homes. We're thousands of years passed the point of tribalism.

I’m using the Home Laboratory server, where the people doing the restoration work are. Seems like that gets lost in all of this. It’s a well running server as well, and nice features for the players.

honestly... between the two evils that have been committed, I would say DH had done more damage to themselves as equally to others. If given a recommendation of who to give more support for an official revival of Home or new project, DH would not be on the top of the list at this moment and time.

Got to respect the honesty about Splices own role in the situation-it’s a refreshing take that encourages accountability. The importance of cache data can't be overstated; withholding it feels like a huge setback for preservation efforts. It would be great to see both sides come together and focus on collaboration rather than division. After all, a united front could lead to some amazing developments for the community... Destination home is just not enjoyable for people. It’s too toxic and they seem very entitled. I think a few of them actually need to seek therapy. Getting too stingy over something that Sony created will only dig themselves into a deeper hole.

What even is this scene anymore... Just as much as wanting to play PS Home is basically a minefield these days. Such a shame because I've been with this scene from the time it was not much more than a discussion on a GitHub Issues page for the JohnDrinkWater archive trying to break into v1.00.17's offline mode (which frankly wouldn't have happened anyways due to a lack of proper content for said v1.00 build but we didn't know much at the time lol). Never would I have ever guessed it would get this bad. [istg if someone takes this comment out of context]

Twitlonger has been under maintenance for a while now, ever since the transition to X. They're apparently working on a way to bring it back, and all past Twitlongers have been archived by their team, which will be compatible with the new system, whenever that is.

I never really took sides until Destination home threatened me with a lawsuit over their stolen assets.

It's seems DH wants to monopolize all pshome data. I reckon they'll find a way to add transactions back into the game and make you pay for the content they never made and then make a profit. I can't think of any other reason to private all the data if they want "preserve" it.
