Is there a rubber insulator on the sides of the door? I have something like grease that has broken down from the heat. Is this a rubber insulator so that the door can be closed perfectly? How do I replace it? Or is there an alternative to solve this problem?

Fuel injected engines meter the correct amount of fuel for the air flow. A clogged air filter will reduce performance, but not decrease fuel economy. An older carbureted car will have increased fuel usage with a clogged filter.

What to do if its from overheating?

I think one important thing to note here is there is a difference between a sway bar bushing, and a sway bar link ball joint or bushing. Both are different things and one or the other or both of them could be bad.

Can a bad sway bar cause excessive body roll? I have a an 02 Chevy avalanche that rocks back on forth on an ugly road I’ve changed the links so those are good the only thing I can notice is the sway bar is not tight I can wiggle it around but don’t know how to tighten it. Do you think that’s why I have body roll?

My 06 Chrysler GC 3.8l light came on when idling. Turned out to be the wire running from alternator and starter had a blown fusible link. Ran a wire from the alternator and battery which fixed the problem.

My car, a bmw x3 2.0 petrol, uses 1 liter of oil on 30 km. It doesn't smoke blue when I start it when the engine is cold, nor when braking hard when downshifting, so I don't think the valve seals are the culprit. I see that there is more and more blue-grey smoke as the engine warms up, and there is a lot of blue smoke when accelerating after idling. I have had the car at the workshop for an engine check and they found no faults with the crankcase ventilation and the compression was good and equal on all cylinders. This engine has been run too hot once by the previous owner, so I suspect that the oil rings may be worn/damaged so they are the cause of the high oil consumption. The oil rings may be bad even if the compression is good?
