-- Garden sheers. Wish I would have thought of that. A razor knife did the job easily, but my damn sheers were 8 feet away. Would have saved me 20 seconds on install :) Having done this recently on a 2004 Z71 Tahoe 5.3L nice job keeping the lines short. Those that want to install a can, turn your in and out nipples as close as you can to where you hoses have to connect. Less worry about crimping, less line need, better vacuum force, more longevity. Also, experiment with a breather on the clean side. On a V engine, usually the oil filler side. Every engine's different, but if the motor with can runs fine with the can, and the Oil Filler Cap off (don't mash it around town like that) you might benefit from a clean side breather as well. Why? Catch cans sometimes can cause overpressure. You do a can, consider a clean side breather. Popping off the oil filler cap, and running a scan tool will tell you everything you need to know. And to be honest, you don't even need the scan tool.

Thanks for the upload - this illustrated all the steps needed to replicate this procedure on my 2008 Suburban nicely... to the other commenters - yes the audio could be better, but it really didn't detract from the information being provided here. Again, thanks!

Ok, Lazaruslonge, you must be affiliated with the person filming this, because not only cant you hear a fricken thing, but the video is complete before he is done! Nice try, but try again!

You saved my life here bro. LOL. Thank you. *edit* How can you have THE ONLY video on KZbin with proper instructions? I was JUUUST thinking that gearheads have NO place explaining things on the internet because they leave out CRUCIAL info ALL THE TIME!!! You left out nothing. Literally every step. Extremely concise. Kudos. Question.... You a Geek at heart like me? I've found it very hard to decipher instructions from most people as they have a "Gearhead" background and overlook many important pieces of information that n00bs will just NOT know. This is something in my industry, is not done. A to Z always.

yes the wrench you used is not a cresent wrench. theres actually no such thing as a cresent wrench its an adjustable wrench. cresent is just a brand. and the wrench you used is a combination wrench meaning it has an open and box end. just bugs me when people do instructional videos and dont used proper term especially somthing so simple
@MrStephenkjones8 жыл бұрын
super glad you corrected me after all this time, I bet no one has been able to install their catch cans because I've completely bungled the name of the tool...the tool that TONS of people also call a crescent wrench incorrectly. sorry for making a very common "mistake" on the internet
@kingdixon968 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Jones i call an adjustable wrench a cresent too just not a completely different kind of wrench and i was super glad i could point that out to you.

I was going to replace my grille on my 2013 Tahoe due to a upper and lower crack in the trim that goes around the grille, I like the OEM grille but could buy the aftermarket stainless grille for the same amount, just received the parts and the surround isnt included in the package, really all I needed was the surround, sending the grille back, great video bud, just wished you showed the new grille install.
