Why didnt team hussein complained or protested at that moment? Instead Hussein went on to continue to fight. Anyway, Pacquiao should have been counted out but that didnt happen. Hussein should have been dq'ed for illegal tactics but that didnt happen. In the end, both parties got off the hook and someone had to lose.

I know a lot of these comments are old on this video, but lying about how long a fighter was down probably isn't the best idea when doing it on a VIDEO WITH TIME BEING DISPLAYED! 0:08 - 0:18. 10 seconds. Not 13. Not longer than 13. Not 18. Not 20. 10.

I don't understand why this seems to be a big deal for others. When those things are actually normal in boxing. How about jeff horn's win against pacman? This is what boxing is.

If you count with all honesty, Pacquiao beat the count without any help by Padilla. On the other hand Padilla was allowing too many dirty tactics by Hussein, it seems Padilla wants Hussein to win this fight.

In the world of bad behaviour by referees, this doesn't come within hailing distance of the worst end of the spectrum between 1 (perfect job) and 10 (Teddy Atlas is screaming bloody murder). Also, pretty nice left from Hussein. Hard to see from the angle and quality, but it seems almost like a long range jab-hook with power that he timed perfectly over Manny's lead right jab.

I counted 8. They usually make sure the other fighter goes to his corner before they start counting. That's why you usually see boxers running to their corner so the count gets started.

Ok, so the ref did count a bit late. But Manny was watching the count and he got up. I counted he got up at the 8 count. Still in time.

Padilla, the ref, said he cheated. He was told before the fight Manny had to win. I believe Padilla.
@tony_freshed Жыл бұрын
@@trepbellafonte8598Despite what crooked Padilla said, his words still doesn't correlate to the actual counting. Remember that it's ref's 10-counting (approximated seconds) that matters, not seconds. Count yourself and see that Pac bet the count by getting up by the 9th count. Padilla made things apparent for people to easily believe that the counting was prolonged due to his unprofessionalism. Moral of the story is: With or without Padilla refereeing, Pac still bet the 10-count.

I don't know, it's close. He goes down at 2 min 23 secs (0:08) ( maybe 2 min 22 secs). They stop showing the clock at 2 min 14 secs (0:16) and he's still on a knee, but getting up. When I read the article about the ref doing a slow count, I thought it would be way more obvious. 🤷♂

lol what controversey.. he got up and bouncing around by the time the count reached 5.. and even if you count in real seconds.. he was up by 7.. so it wouldn't have made a difference.. fake news
@baseballhunter422 жыл бұрын
Slow count but not really a game changer, he's still up right around time even if the ref was a few seconds behind. Just too close to say it should be a KO, if that was the standard refs should have stop watches because we're talking fractions of a second.
@leroyjennings58422 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what the controversy is. He got up right before 10. Referees never count right when they fall. They wait till they get the other fighter away which can take a second or so. But even as he drops it is super close to 10. Not over

Pacquiao went down at :22, 10 count should have been at :12, ref was at 5 when 8 seconds passed. This was closer to a 20 count. I totally believe the ref saying he helped Pac cheat the count. This is bad for boxing
@jeremylamovsky36692 жыл бұрын
Man, I can't help but think he beats that count anyway. It's wild man, people protect their records, so a guy like Manny comes out of Asia without a lot of hype and a couple losses, you don't expect him to be the buzzsaw he actually was. Also, those fighters in places like the Philippines and especially Thailand are so active they often have twice as many fights as someone who's been pro the same amount of time.
@CashmereT842 жыл бұрын
He stood up but the extra time to recover probably cost Hussein a knock out.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 he cheated for him he was literally down for more than 10 secs
@mew2o6352 жыл бұрын
@@xxdamienxx823c9 there's a clock on the video, he was down for about 8-9 seconds at most, it wasn't an insane 17 count like how media made it look like... so he wasn't "literally" down for more than 10 seconds, plus your 10 second argument is irrelevant, as in boxing, counts aren't timed like the clock or actual seconds, it's the referee's count, it's called long count or slow count. happens a lot of times in boxing, and is normal and not illegal at all.
@GuitarGuy21322 жыл бұрын
@@xxdamienxx823c9Look at the clock, he went down in between 2:23-2:22 and got up 8-10 seconds. And it’s not unheard of for Refs to count slightly slower, an example would be the Tyson vs Douglas fight, The Ref was counting slower than normal but Manny would’ve beaten the count anyway so it wouldn’t have mattered
