And Hawthorn went on to thrash the buggery out of Carlton (and everyone else) for the next few years. An incredibly good team. It shows how good Carlton were on that day.

Lol this is a pretty badass commercial. I miss when commercials used to be fun here in the US. They are all pretty stale and boring here now days.

What a contrast. Balme was a total animal on the field but such an amiable, easy going guy off it.

I was sitting right in front of where this occurred and the umpire initiated contact with WIlliams, which there was zero need for. Has always stuck in my craw.

I cried when Tommy left Richmond. He told me he was offered the job again at the start of 1982 but declined as he had given a hand shake agreement to continue to coach Collingwood. Richmond appointed Francis Bourke and and the Pies sacked Tommy shortly into the 1982 season. I cry thinking about the premierships we’d have won in the 80’s if Tommy had have taken the job

Ditterich was charged with historic child sex charges last month. That aside, Ditterich used to do what Balme did almost every week so good to see him get one back. Due to his size, many were too scared to retaliate.
