Does the sigma adaptor affect the look of the image at all?
@PD_DOP3 күн бұрын
Hi Man, there is no glass elements in this adapter, so there is no influence on image. The only advantage of using this adapter over manual ones, is control over Iris or tap to focus function on the Pyxis camera. When you use mostly manual lenses, than you don't need to consider this adapter. Just buy cheaper metal adapter. Cheers!
@MrCoolAidan3 күн бұрын
@ ah ok cool thanks. I’m a bit of a novice with this stuff. Because of the extra distance between the lens and the sensor (due to the adaptor) is there any crop factor?
@MrCoolAidan3 күн бұрын
@@PD_DOP and would it work with these lenses? Samyang VDSLR Lens Kit 6 - Canon EF
@PD_DOP3 күн бұрын
@@MrCoolAidan cool, no worries ;) . Every lens mount has an unique distance from the sensor (from the mount on the camera) so, adapter doesn't add more distance to optical internals of the EF lens for example, that L mount version of the same lens. In theory the distance can vary but not more than couple of millimeters, so there should be no real difference in the field of view.

@PD_DOP4 күн бұрын
@@reviesteta6446 sure, check in the link in the description, this EVF / monitor mount has knobs for tightening every joint in two axis. This makes this mount very versatile. I mounted it kinda the other way that it should be mounted because my monitor has a cage with nato rail at the side. I will post some photos to show it.

The only thing I see missing is an internal BP-U battery that provides power redundancy to the camera and allows you to hot swap the V-mount battery, my common practice for any cinema camera rig build. Otherwise I would just use a large BP-U battery with D-tap output.
@AdamLangdon14 күн бұрын
When I was planning to rig up my Pyxis, I did some math. With the body, Mofage PL to L Adapter, V-Mount Plate, and Cage... I was at 7 lbs before a monitor and lens. The Ursa Mini bodies are 5.6 lbs. I decided to stick with my CC6kFF and go back to an Ursa Mini (either G2 or 12k) . I can always run with a body/lens/battery on an UMP, since it has a foldable screen, but the Pyxis, I will always need a monitor. I think once the Pyxis Monitor comes out it will help a lot of rigging options for those that enjoy it. I myself need a 7" for my glasses-wearing eyes.
@PD_DOP14 күн бұрын
@@AdamLangdon That’s interesting, because I end up more less at the same weight as with rigged Ursa I think there was a 1 kilogram more on Ursa, but still, it’s a heavy rig for some but it’s alright for the purpose.

With the D-Tap cable do you need to worry about the voltage (14.8V from the V-Mount Battery to 12V for the Pyxis)?
