A great ski montage from past decades. These skiers are highly skilled, especially with their ancient equipment. The mogul skiers were outstanding. No helmets, and no fear! ⛷️😎👍

Those poma's don't look nearly as hard as the ones at Okemo resort in Vermont many years ago. The old Red Poma at Okemo was about 6000 feet long with a 1400-foot vertical rise. It was diesel-powered and a fair number of skiers crashed right after the loader dropped the poma onto the moving cable. Okemo used to have 6 poma lifts on a 2100-foot vertical drop back in the day. The last time I skied there the only one left was the Green Poma which served a couple of expert runs, maybe 1987.

5:00 and 6:37 are clips of the fluid and highly influential Stein Ericksen. The video is apparently a montage of skiing clips across different years.

Great film. Thanks for posting. These skiers are really quite spectacular if you consider the equipment they are skiing on.

My dad could beat it to the top by skating with his skis. There were some crazy skiers in those days. I saw someone ski down slope at the Guthega Pipeline in about 1965

Thanks, great memories . . . In case some watcher laughs at their technique, remind them that, regardless of style, the people we watched from then, were exceptional athletes. They skied parallel without our 21st-century smug skills and "state-of-the-art" gear. Bravo.

hai neil, it is very nice to see.... what camera r u used ? hero 3+ silver or hero 3+ black, and is this a original footage without CG ? ple help me ... because i am very intresting about 3d stereo, can i purchase the gopro 3+silver camera with Dual Hero System ?
@NeilSurry10 жыл бұрын
Hi Suman, This was shot using GoPro Hero3+ Black edition (Hero3+ Black is the only camera that works in the Dual Hero system) in the new Dual Hero system. Transcoded to Apple ProRes 422 (using mpeg streamclip) for editing in Final Cut 7. No CG, however it was colour graded in FCP 7. I would recommend GoPro studio for free transcoding & editing software as FCP7 can be hard to use for a beginner. I hope this helps!
@sumanbabu627810 жыл бұрын
Neil Surry Thanks Neil for your helpful response... but now, hero3+ black is not available.. gopro had stopped that camera... only hero3+ silver is available... what can i do ?
@NeilSurry10 жыл бұрын
I would contact GoPro directly & ask to buy a DHS with the Hero3+ black cameras or ask GoPro if and when they intend to support Hero4 with the DHS. It doesn't make sense for them to sell DHS and not the cameras that are compatible, maybe just wait for an firmware update on Hero4? My suggestion is to ask GoPro support. good luck!
