It's the reason I got into modding and adding different dimensions to the game. I keep on trying to recreate that overwhelming feeling of having a new, unknown world to explore over and over again.

watched the whole video. started playing when i was 11, im now 19 and still play the game. no matter what i did in these 8 years, just playing a survival world for a few hours takes your head away from all the stress. just a great game

Broo I've got this video in yt recommendations and I thought it's something from big channels like 200k+. But I was pleasantly suprised to see such a great video on such a deep topic from just a friend playing minecraft and wanted to talk. I've tried doing youtube back in the 1.3 version of the game and got about 10k subs total so I totally understand your vibe and drive. And it was a great topic you brought up! I agree with the point that nostalgia for older versions is grounded in memories of playing with friends and simpler times. It is true on many levels! I do remember school days, when there was more free time in the evening to play with friends on public servers. I really miss the times when I met new people on first IC2+BC modded servers. Another point to think about is modded mc nostalgia. If you ask the modded community, people will tell you they miss old mods dearly. You can make an old mod, but you woun't relive those experiences unfortunately. The point I'm trying to make is that not only playing with friends and simpler times, but also the element of discovery. If you think of your first world, you never ever would be able to experince somethink like that. And the pursuit of older versions is a pursuit of that first ever minecraft experience. Cause when you play this game for a long time that means you started at some older version, where there was a dirt house and hole in the stone mined by hand. Anyway, thanks for the grat video, I hope algorithm will have mercy on it. I've even written a 100 page comment because this topic is touching to the core. Have a great time man, and best of luck to your community and server.

The whole Silver Age Minecraft is pretty underrated to be honest. These versions had a lot of the modern amenities and iconic mobs that we take for granted today, but they still kept some of the emptyness of Golden Age Minecraft. Villagers literally had pig AI for a time, were even dumber and completely useless. I think b1.7.3 is still better but r1.2.5 is pretty great as well.

just saying, you have become a lot better at proper articulation! there's just so many less "uhhs" and "erms", keep it up man! Apart from that, wonderful video, this can definitely teach a lot of people important life skills outcasted by modern society because people are just wayyyy to sensitive nowadays.

Its tough to pin down exactly what it is, but for me i like to feel like I've "completed" a world. Thats impossible for MC but what i mean is i thoroughly explored all structures i could find and kill the dragon and the wither and collect rare items. Now there seems like so much stuff i cant realistically "complete" a world with the new versions because there is always something more i wont have.

Wrong atleast for me. I always enjoyed adventuring more than building in minecraft (almost never played vanilla apart from the first year i played). After building like 3 projects of varying sizes it just gets boring for me. Just not fun for me after 12 years...

I’m not gonna lie, I wish I had spoken up more within the last couple months. I left my job because I had stuff to say about things I’ve noticed around the restaurant, but I didn’t say anything cause I didn’t wanna seem rude. Now because of that, I’m still to this day fighting for my first paycheck from August. This video helped me a bit, thanks man

In real life, maybe this is true but on the internet you are only gonna be mean until the first time you get doxxed. Important to point out that indeed it's ok to disagree with others and point that out, just don't be rude and have some self moderation guys

Yeah that’s pretty much I was saying. I think some people think that they’re being mean when they genuinely have a different opinion on something. People are so afraid nowadays to voice their interests and opinions! Thanks for the comment !

I apply this artistic mind to modded playthroughs. I could make a cobble box to have all my machinary away from rain or I could make something worthy of an organised mess instead. And making the challenge to compact and colour what you build in minecraft is a labour of love that pushes 2 weeks into 6 months.

Love this video! One thing I've started doing in modern Minecraft is instead of seeing certain blocks or materials as "junk" I try to think what fun build ideas I can come up with with all the different materials I have.

imma subscribe, making content is fun got me, and it work too, i want to do better, i started to make content cause i put in my all to other things in my life, and i didnt work out for me. so i decided to go all in on my youtube channel, cause its something i might be able to do, sadly becoming successful in the workplace ladders never worked for me. im tired of being taken advantage of by scumbag bosses. i just want to live my life. im 30 and i feel like i have gotten nothing done. i just keep getting robbed, and mistreated in the workforce. i just want to have a life that i can enjoy and still make ends meat. have a great day man i hope you and your friends get what you want from life. just remember to relax sometimes.

6:41 this is exactly what i discovered, do not rush the game, i think about it like making the end quite literally the end, or at leas tthe last thing you want to do ive never beaten the dragon ever since i started playing because i always have played like that, i only have beaten her 2 times but that was with friends so it does not count this dude's message is very real

The only way I tend to play Minecraft now is with a custom modpack I made for Beta 1.7.10. New Mods tend to be less ambitious, and I managed to make one of my favorite games in that version.

honestly, I never got the 2 week phase. I have always loved minecraft and I love getting on from time to time to add to my world. I have always wanted to have a big world with all my friends where we can build big cities and stuff with eachother, but they always stop wanting to play after about 2 weeks, and im left alone in this ghost town of a minecraft server. I like to play with my sister alot and she always says "lets make a new world to play on!" and I just think "why????? we have already abandoned many minecraft worlds with half made projects why can't we just stay on one for a while?" no one ever wants to do this. :(

The new cave system really upsets me, I never feel like exploring them, I just go straight to lower levels and start striping mining as I used to do. Sometimes they’re nice, but I feel bored really fast, I miss the old ones.
@cleverman3835 күн бұрын
Look up "Why do I still play in 1.6.4?" by TheMasterCaver. They explain how the cave generation in 1.7+ became smaller and rarer, making exploration much less enjoyable for their playstyle. In 1.6.4, cave systems were much larger and more expansive, which allowed for long, rewarding exploration sessions. TheMasterCaver dives into how the changes in later versions, starting with 1.7, drastically reduced cave sizes and made mineshafts and dungeons less common-something that really impacts the enjoyment of exploration. It’s a great read if you’re nostalgic for the older system!

World of Warcraft vanilla Counter Strike v1.6 Runescape 2007 version Final Fantasy 7 Pokemon gen 1 red/blue and 2 gold/silver Super Smash Bros Melee Street Fighter II The Sims 2 Diablo II GTA: SA Tony Hawk 1 and 2 look, it is not something uniquely minecraftian to want specific, often older versions, it is very much part of gamer culture and mentality - and always has been. People swear y the above titles even though there are newer, more advanced, sometimes arguably better version citing nostalgia, story or "feeling".

The simplicity of the older versions are a breath of fresh air. There's so many tidbits and things in the newer versions that it feels like a fulltime job to play sometimes with how complicated it is. 1.2.5 was my fav version it has just enough features imo

Like i agree, i cant ever find what i need in one reasonable space either. That wasnt so bad in the old versions. Its like you get lucky with a village or a mansion and then there are no close by ancient cities, your nether spawns are trash, etc.
