The design of that zone after the graveyard is the way to the Great Palace, you know, after all the others, yeah, it was already unfair but this, this is no fun, the game is slapping you and tell you to suffer.

When you're done with Zelda II and if you want to play another hard NES game I suggest Dragon Warrior II AKA Dragon Quest II, it is the hardest version as it's remakes made it easier, this game is infamous for it's difficulty, and it has the worst cave design you need to go through just before the zone where the final boss is, there's a meme about one of the party members is always dead, there's a reason for it.

All I got to say is that you'll get dumbstruck on the speedrun on how fast it goes and how brute force is actually kind of the way to go.

Slime that went through the keyhole, 'chuckle' funny to mention that because it's never explained anywhere in the game but you can do the same with the Fairy Spell. Also it's normal you struggle in this palace because 1 it's palace 3 and second you never did palace 2 since you didn't find it yet, so technically you're sequence breaking, I think palace 3 might be undooable but I'm not sure, future palaces for sure are not as you need to be able to break blocks for sure. Palace 2 it's was really close as from the part of the map you're in, there as two maps technically, it's kind of the same situation with the boulder leading to the Water of Life, you passed in front of it the couple of times you did from Ruto by passing by the cave south of it where you need the Jump Spell, but by the point you got the Hammer you forgot about it, let me know if you want more hand holding/backseat, you just never saw it on the map, or you did but it was in the first episodes, I can understand if you don't want it like Brianna having a walkthrough but you saying no unless you're stuck.
