Pryor vs Duran at JWW. What a match up that could've been.
@normancook9657 ай бұрын
Pryor was a victim of his own success and the timing of his success - he was so damn good that the established really big names of the era didn't want anything to do with him.

He wasn't the greatest he cheated. You heard his own Corner man Say. Give me that special water That I mixed. When he fought Alexis, That's why he was kicked at a box Him and his coach.
Association so many young men didn't get the money they deserve or the paid fights they were do while a few fighters careers were protected. This man gave so much to boxing his should have ended with generational wealth.🌄🦍❤️

Too bad they couldn't agree on the weight. Pryor/Leonard would have been an exciting fight. As good as Pryor was, personally I think Leonard would have beat him.

Aaron Pryor was the most feared man in professional boxing. A lot of fighters avoided this man because they knew what time it was.

Aaron THE HAWK Pryor was a different breed that you'll never see again in this life. It was no running with him because he was all over your ass until he knocked your block off. Period! Sugar Ray Leonard was great but once he brought Aaron Pryor to his camp to spar with him and Aaron beat Sugar Ray up so good they fired him. That's why Ray Leonard avoid him at all cost. The hawk was no joke in that ring. Everyone avoided him because they knew he would make you fight every second until he wore you down. Period!.He was a joy to watch!

It`s often said (many times) that Sugar Ray ducked Aaron. I am a BIG fan of Aaron, I consider his 1st bout with Arguello to be one of the best 10 fights there ever was. But in fairness to Ray, the fight WAS there to happen. It didn`t happen because Aaron kept demanding more money. This was despite the fact that he was being offered 6 - 7 times more than he had ever earned for a fight. Also, to suggest that a fighter who took on fights against Duran, Benitez, Hearns, Kalule etc would "duck" anyone is just nonsense.

Life in America is just unfair for a black man period. Aaron made something positive out of his life despite the hardships.
@tigerscott29662 жыл бұрын
Sugar Ray Lenard was groomed and protected. They were looking to make more money from his image. They would not allow AARON Pryor to over shadow Lenard. They could not control him either.
