you have an "interesting" style of casting ... its kind of like watching someone who doesn't know how to hold a rod properly or cast properly then complain they have a broken rod ...

You already have Ugly Sticks, so you know how tough they are. Why use anything else then ??? I've used Ugly Stick "Catfish" for twenty five years. Indestructible. I have three now, and one of them is the first one i ever bought at the recommendation of a fisherman on the Commercial Blvd Pier in Ft. Lauderdale twenty five years ago. He was an old man back then, has to be dead by now, but thankful to have learned something from him.

He would improve his fishing if he learnt to cast correctly, needs to be more fluid and smooth, and keep both hands on rod although cast.

False. Penn is owned by Pure Fishing of Columbia, South Carolina. Conicidentally, the exact same company that owns and produces Ugly Stiks.

I’m guessing something was caught in the trigger guard when he holstered the gun. It wasn’t until he bent over that his belly pushed the gun further down the into holster with the unknown object in the trigger guard depressing the trigger until the gun finally discharged. 😖

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DO NOT USE GRAPHITE RODS! THEY SNAP AT THE TIP ON HARD CASTS AND OTHER THINGS. (I snapped 3 graphite rods from casting hard) THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I USE FIBERGLASS FISHING RODS. THEY BEND AND ARE FLEXIBLE.

Something tell’s me you shut it in a car door or something and it was already weak. There’s videos of these rods pulling Goliaths up out of cover. The fact that it just snaps from you reeling looks off to me.

I have used Ugly Sticks for 30 or 40 years. I broke two in that time. I rolled the tip up in the car window on one and ran over the handle with the car on the other one. I bought a Lews rod and was pulling a small tree limb in almost straight and it broke about 6 inches from the tip. I will stick to my Ugly Sticks and a couple of high dollar rods that were given to me

What actually happened was u hit the rod with the lead head of ur Buck tail on the previous cast and chiped the finish causing a weak point.that will happen with any rod when do that.iv done it with a 500 dollar century rod and a lamiglas GSB

looks like the line got wrapped around the tip before you casted it and when you casted it broke. thats why i always check before i cast and make sure the line at the tip is free moving through the guides and not hung up. before you cast if you put the tip up toward the sky facing the sunny side you can see if the line is good. that and it being a inexspensive budget line penn rod is why it broke. you have to be more careful. luckly its a penn and they have good warranty.

If you want a rod that'll last you a lifetime you're better off getting a custom rod from a quality builder, then you can get exactly what you want .
