Aye. On a Fell later on this summer. I'm hoping to get 6 to 7 weeks off. Hopefully. Gonna put the letter in tomorrow. Can't wait for summer , I've never known a winter like this one. So many gales. I've only got 2 wildcamps done this year. The first one in gales. Then last weekend I ended up like a drowned rat , next to the Tarn pictured on the banner. I had to set my alarm every hour. I was worried about getting flooded out. Good fun though. The most important thing I've learned from those 2 wildcamps is. I need to go on a diet , I'm well overweight. Ha Ha. Time to tighten the belt. Hopefully a new tent in a couple of months for this summer. Hilleberg Niak , probably in sand. Aye. If you wanna meet up sometime in August. Let me know and we'll get something planned. Hopefully I will have lost some weight by then. Ha ha.

It's amazing. I got it from ultralightoutdoorgear.uk. They got 7 in and they sold out straight away. It looks amazing in sand. I'm tempted to get the red one in a year or so. They come into their own in breezy conditions. My green one is over 10 years old, been through the bullring and is still going strong. Aye. You're Cairngorm adventure looked epic. Amazing views. What a stunning backdrop for the Hilleberg Soulos. Can't wait to get back out again. Everytime I look on the MWIS it's gale force winds. One storm after another. It can't stay like that forever. Thanks for commenting John. All the best for the New Year. Take care.

@@Kg51Edelweiss I've never done a trail.I plan to fill my boots with as many different wildcamps in England over the next couple of years. Especially after seeing what has happened in Dartmoor. Then if a widespread ban eventually comes to be , in the whole of England. At least I will be able to look back with no regrets. Then I will look at wildcamping , perhaps even a trail in Scotland. The tourist industry in Scotland must be rubbing their hands and laughing at England right now. If a wildcamping ban does happen in England. It will be a fantastic boost for their economy and a shot in the foot for the English one. Enjoy your trek , look forward to the vid.

For years I couldn't really go out the house, illnesses of various types, then I found wild camping on youtube, you and dave... There were loads of channels all doing their own thing, but the weather, the places, the hardcore love for the outdoors and just being self reliant in the middle of nowhere, being in the environment, cutting out all the bs, all the distractions, just you and a bit of thin material to keep the elements at bay, you and dave were the ones to watch and live vicariously through your videos. I never had much going on in my life but those videos of his and your adventures kept me going through some seriously dark times in the hope that one day I might get out onto the hills in a tent and live a little, experience some kind of essence of existence, to have something to aim for and experience. I am pretty much back at square one, hoping I can turn it around it again, but I did it, I got 1 'proper' wild camp in. I'll never be a 15 mile a day scrambling up munros type, but I will wild camp again. Dave... and you made a difference to me and my life as weird as it seems, but his videos got me through and showed me there was something worth going after. R.I.P. Dave, and very best wishes to you Kili...keep doing what you do, you are both inspirational
@kilburnicus
@kilburnicus 2 жыл бұрын
Thankyou for the kind words , it means so much , it really does. I remember you. Yes , Dave and myself both went through some dark times. We both lived for wildcamping. That was the bond. It doesn't matter if you camp high or low . I'm not on any special missions. I do as much camping if not more , that I don't film. I also now ,really enjoy the campsites . You wildcamp for yourself. It's a fantastic way of getting away from the everyday clutter that we all get shoved in our faces . A chance to clear the head and listen peacefully to ones own thoughts. I've solved many a problem and made many of my better decisions in life , just by getting away wildcamping. Aye , it's a shame Dave's channel isn't still there , so everyone could be reminded of what a unique , true genius he was. A close friend of his , said , " they broke the mold when they made him " , they certainly did and then some. He really was a wild wildcamper , he was wicked. Again. Thankyou for the kind words. I know I have the comments disabled . But a lot of awful stuff has happened over the years. One day I will switch them back on. Meanwhile I have got a lot done , which will be slowly going up. All the best . Take care.
