You can usually turn music down in settings for in game. If you can’t beat a boss after a few rounds it’s best to put the game down, take a break for a few hours or try the next day. Works for me anyway.

waste of time? no. thats regular ark gameplay. when you start out you either spawn inside an enemy base and get eaten by their pets or spawn close to an alpha and get eaten. or you can jump in the water and get eaten by a megalodon. or you can do what he did and choose to spawn in the swamplands and get eaten by various versions of pre-historic crocodiles and get swamp fever from the leeches.

Something you should know about trudy (the koi fish) is it is missing an eye so if it has the missing eye turned to you then it cant spot you but if its other eye is looking at you then it will go after you

Blocking is good but as you start to fight stronger insects they fill up your block gauge faster (which is why the spider stunned you) so you need to learn how to parry attacks. All you have to do is block a bit before you get hit. You will see sparks and hear a sound when you do it right. If you want to practice it you should practice with lawn mites as they have the slowest attack. You could also craft a shield out of weevil meat which will increase your blocking gauge so you can block more attacks but you can only use one handed weapons with a shield.

I would get the blueprint for mint mace to get the spicy coaltana
