Screw John Deere. They are leaving mainly because farmers have stopped purchasing their products because of their practices. John Deere's computer systems on farm equipment do odd things like shut down the entire tractor if a fuel filter gets clogged. Then, the farmer has to pay extra money after replacing the fuel filter to reset the computer system. This is the main reason CLAAS has come in and taken a considerable part of the market, along with CASE. John Deere has just been lucky due to their vast loyalty base, but it's slowly moving to Claas or Case.

Companies don't leave the USA when their Chinese competitors have to pay tariffs; it allows the USA to become more competitive and, in in-turn, hire more people. A toy made in China sells for $10, and a toy made in the USA sells for $15 (American companies pay workers more, so the cost is higher). Add a $10 tariff on the Chinese toy. Now the Chinese toy sells for $20 and the USA toy sells more. Get it? I know from being stationed in other countries they tariff the crap out of US goods. They want their people to buy goods made in their own country. A $30 pair of Levi's jeans sells for near or over $100 in other countries. Starting to get the picture yet?
