Awesome set up mate, how do you deal with the weight walking around site with it?
@_Broomstick10 күн бұрын
@milandeo7753 Honestly, it was a bit of a bear to bring up ladders. My facility has a smaller footprint, so I never had to carry it too far. I've upgraded to an mb5b for my daily/general stuff and the backpack straps make the weight much more manageable.

There's some weird coating on the Fluke lead tips that gives higher resistance. I sanded mine gently with 3000 grit and then they did almost as well as my Probe Masters.

I keep my Milwaukee rover light that has a clip on it in that pass through pocket it’s the battery light not the rechargeable
@WalterMelons28 күн бұрын
I despise that light. The clip either covers the magnet or the button and if you try to slide it to where it doesn’t cover either the cap goes flying off into the abyss. I had it for a week before the cap flew off into a pit of doom out of my reach. I could see the little bastard lying there but there was no way to get it. Threw the whole thing in after that.
@Qualityservicesbcs28 күн бұрын
@ yeah it took a bit to figure out how to turn the clip without the cap flying off . Haha

@_Broomstick7 ай бұрын
ProbeMasters have less resistance. No contest there. Not super important for most industrial settings, but certainly something to keep in mind if testing circuit boards.

I’m a retired electrician and sold off my fluke’s when I retired. I bought the CL390 after I realized my two other budget meters were unreliable and one of them died. Oops! Bad decision on my part. What I despise about the 390 is the beeping when changing modes, it drives me nuts.

I bought this as a DIYer, seems to be the cheapest name brand one you can get for DC Amps (Car work). Hopefully it lasts me a very long time if not lifetime for the price, as a bonus it will be a good tool when I become a homeowner.
@_Broomstick8 ай бұрын
Nice choice! It offers a lot of features for the price! The DC amps feature IS very handy for auto/small engine work. Sounds like you made a good purchase 👍

@_Broomstick9 ай бұрын
I'd say yes if you get into 1-1/2" - 2-1/2" pipe a bit. They're handy for general industrial maintenance and repair as well. I use the 16" version of these much more often. I'd get that one first. If you like it, think about rounding out your toolbox with the bigger set.

Thanks! If I had to do it again, I might go with one size down as well. The bag is very bulky, and I tend to throw too much crap in it, making it way too heavy to carry more than a few hundred feet.

It's the TP-LC made by Veto Pro Pac. Pretty handy. I'm thinking about upgrading to the TP-XXL because it has the meter pouches on the outside. Spendy packs, but worth the money imo.
