"Pish POSH!" Yes! I agree with Amon. Each developer or user is going to be in a different place and it's so great to hear people share their insights. It truly shows a community that is encouraging and supportive. I am NOT a data analyst - I'm an HR professional. When I said that in an organizational community environment the first time I spoke up, we all (including me) laughed. I was nervous to speak up, because I was wasn't sure that I belonged. However, I have been able to explore new areas, grow technical skills and meet with people who use tools to tell stories with data. As a creative and analytical thinker, discovering Power BI and creating my first dashboard report was like MAGIC. I am grateful to be a part of a large university environment, where there are SMEs who are supportive of my individual journey...that support was critical for me and it encouraged me to continue down this path. It helped having a supervisor who valued data visuals and storytelling, because while she didn't know how to get that going, she is now on board with PBI as a possible solution that is cost-effective and useful for many. It's not easy, but Power BI makes it accessible to those who aren't as technical - and when you're a team of one, just keep at it and be confident in your learning. The community collaboration and everyone on KZbin and in these groups, is why I want to continue to mesh my HRIS background and "soft" people skills with the technical stuff that can create beautiful and compelling reports and visuals.
