The interviewer asked Alan if he was comfortable with his role but he said the point is not to be comfortable in that part and to keep the mystery of the characters. He is a thoughtful actor.

I was bullied for being autistic, Asperger's Syndrome specifically. It was on that level that I found a kind of kindred spirit connection w/ his "HP" role. I was also raised by a single mom, so Professor Snape served as a dark father-figure, too, in a way. Good to know Alan's such a personable, warm, sweet, gentle, funny guy in real-life. I love his intellectual nature, too. I'd love to meet him one day, to sit w/ him by a fire, having tea as we discussed in depth our favorite books, plays, & films. I actually think it would be quite a fun time.
