That’s not a reversal. That’s a wig wag. A reversal is when you pop a hole and reverse the axis of your blow tube and have both terminations visible. It changes the pattern drastically (looks like a zig zag mustache. If you turn down your oxygen and turn up your turbo it’ll reduce your flame to a pin point and you can make much tighter switch backs on your wig wag if you like that aesthetic. While it’s not a reversal I do like the regular wig wags better. Ever make your own lined tubing either with a stick stack, vac stack, or simply laying lines on a tube and either sleeving it or laying clear lines over it (Jason Lee method) ?
@zacstronautglass3 күн бұрын
@@zackzittel7683 dude the names people use for these changes from who you talk to. I see lots of people call these reversals and the other you describe as a wigwag. Personally I think calling the axis switch pattern a wigwag made more sense since it creates that W kinda patterns and in this all you do is turn switchbacks into the lines of the tube so I took that as reversing direction of the twist thus reversal. I’ve also been chewed out over asking someone if what they were making as an implosion or a compression. I try not to get too hung up on those details. I have made my own lined tubes in various ways. I have another wigwag/reversal video up with the axis switch, but as you described it’s popping a hole on the side and I don’t see how we’re describing that as reversing the pattern but I’m a self taught dude in the woods of BC with no other glass artists to talk too about this stuff.
