If yall feel like you might be feeling this type of toxic stress, I encourage you to start trying to heal whatever is stressing you and find good stress relief methods. Whether that is going to therapy, practicing some kind of spiritual practice, journaling, self care like long showers or getting your nails done. Try to do things that make you happy and feel good. & take a break from the phones bc these things in itself is stressful.

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant. I have suffered from anxiety and depression since I was a kid. Planning pregnancy I wanted to take good care of both my mental and physical pain (I have DDD and other painful stuff going on in my body). I have been going to psychiatrist, psychologist (no meds) during pregnancy. Also gym and swimming to help my pain (no meds). But still - I have a lot of physical pain that affects my mood. And I am worried that my baby feels this pain. I try to be strong for my son. But I have no clue how my constant pain and lack of sleep will affect his future development 😢

This rings true for me and the pregnant women I have known. I had a very peaceful, supportive pregnancy, and my baby came out never crying, sleeping wonderfully, and now that he's a toddler, he regulates fairly quickly. My friends who had very stressful, high anxiety pregnancies, were in abusive relationships at the time of their pregnancies, etc, their babies are inconsolable, have a hard time sleeping regularly, etc. It could be anecdotal, and I know every pregnancy, baby, and person is different, but this video makes it not seem just purely anecdotal.

The desire for strangers to do unnecessary tests and mental coercion of systems prenatal care caused me stress. Learning about 1 in 3 woman experience birth trauma some cases seem to be preventable as they was caused by unnecessary interventions that domino affected a bad outcome. Which also learning a birth plan isn't a legal document and most medical professionals don't do informed consent prior to touching you it seems. Also medical negligence is hard to prove in court also it seems and unless there was physical trauma done to you causing permanent damage, lawyers dismiss the cases of mental traumas. Yh ive spent the last 7 months of my pregnancy researching different topics and this subject. It has caused me stress prior to deciding I wanted to birth at home and not receive their prenatal even when they threatened to prior to report to child services cause missed appointment with them. I wouldn't feel safe giving birth in hospital, they can do things to people and no legal consequences seem to happen to them

What she says at 9:55 about newborn MRI scans of babies in their resting state is pure science. These babies had more connections between amygdala circuits & frontal cortex, meaning they’re quick/ready to react in fearful/angry/negative ways to situations they encounter. I believe it just based on comparing how my pregnancies went, and my kids’ outcomes. Anyway, a pregnant woman loses nothing to try to be mindful to her own stress during her pregnancy - if she succeeds, and it helps her fetus, great, if she doesn’t succeed and/or it doesn’t help her fetus, is anything lost just because she practiced mindfulness during pregnancy?

The world’s leading scientific neurologist are validating and telling the world the first nine months you better be very careful because if you’re not mindful of what you’re doing, you are selfish and you’re not ready to have a baby. Even after listening to this type of lecture which they never have in their life because I’m the only scientist in the family, the only nurse I’m the only one that graduated from college so I have a very difficult time communicating with the outside world outside of the hospitals, brick walls .. so these types of lectures are very soothing to us professionals in thin brick walls of the hospital that everybody in the world runs to the drop of a dime because they can’t help themselves.. now we are damaging babies before they’re born and they don’t even know that or do they are you that selfish… because I know all woman who took alprazolam a.k.a. Xanax through her whole pregnancy and her baby went through the most horrendous withdraws and nearly died from respiratory distress, but she never told nobody so the nurses didn’t get an opportunity to wean the baby down and neonatal ICU. Then she comes along with twins and twins, were subjected to the terrors of Suboxone… and today we’re gonna let the whole world know no names but I want you to understand how selfish you are if you are taking prescription drugs or in a toxic environment because it’s not about you anymore you have a baby human being inside of you that you gotta carry for nine months so I would suggest you check yourself go to therapy and if you don’t have nothing nice to say, keep your mouth shut… and go outside and sit on a swing and swing all day long.

Women are built to birth, but we weren’t built to raise them in this Western society. Our biology still expects us to be surrounded by our tribe. If you’re anxious or depressed at home when you’re alone with your baby, it only makes perfect sense to feel that way. We are healing, learning our new life and grieving our old one. We are vulnerable and doing something vital: raising those who will take our place. There was a time we didn’t have cars or smartphones, but we DID know the importance of taking care of the mother after birth.

I've found that understanding the concept of eustress or "good stress" helps me foster EF skills. How I practice this is by providing kiddos with a developmentally appropriate challenge, then providing them with just enough support (aka scaffolding it) so they feel a sense of accomplishment when completing it.

This is for you, pregnant amazing women reading this: Your baby is stronger than you think. This video encourages fear, emotional invalidation and anxiety. True facts: life is hard. Life has beauty. Life is tough. And so your baby is! I know many women that even though they suffered depression and anxiety, they developed healthy happy babies in their wombs and later out. So dont worry too much about your emotions, because emotions are part of the life and i am sure that you can be stressed and still feel nice moments too when eating an icecream, talk to a loved one or watch a comedy show. It is normal to feel so so bad sometimes due to hormones through pregnancy! Everything can be the worst suddenly and i dont think God desing was so terrible. Everything has its reasons. Also your inmune system is at its lowest so you can keep the baby in. This affects emotions too. So you will feel all the emotions in your pregnancy!and your baby will still be safe. All you need is to feel it normal and part of the life itself, because someday, your baby will also feel ALL emotions and you will validate all of them with your support and love. I send you all mine❤.

Maybe she should have defined stress a bit clearer. Most women experience stress such as temporary sorrow about the unknown future, feeling helpless because of the fatigue and mood swings mostly because of the hormonal changes. That is very different from stress like life threatening events or suffering from mental illness. Also it would be helpful if the study about prenatal anxiety would be compared to postnatal depression and anxiety. Because I suspect, that the effect of the second is way greater.
