😂 Good luck dude. I’m not even a fan of them and I know you’re fucked if you try fighting them. My advice, as if you’ll listen, is lose the hate boner for these dudes and just live your life. He is Pakistan based. He ships his stock to a family member in NYC who then ships the orders when they come in. I'm fairly positive that as long as the knife would not be illegal in the UK, he could ship directly to you from Pakistan. His name is Bilal Butt and he is a SUPER SUPER nice guy. He is happy to take custom orders, especially from friends of mine. If you have ever seen a knife you wanted, or have a design you would like to see realized, send him a photo, some drawings, whatever... He can then ask you what steel you want it in (usually 1095, D2, or 440 Stainless) and how thick you want the stock to be and give you a price. He has made at least a half dozen custom pieces modeled after photos I saw. Feel free to send him an email: [email protected] Make sure you tell him you know me (use my real name in the email. He knows me personally)

It's a display piece. It's sharp and I think the steel is 1045, so it should take an even better edge than it has, but who fights with renaissance daggers? To me, the best long blade in any situation is a machete. Cheap, easy to sharpen, light, and ergonomic.

As a Filipino, I'm astounded by the idea of combining Japanese and Filipino design. Sorry, the Japanese invaded us! We had our own warriors ready and fighting them blade vs. katana. We won. Support traditional Filipino blades when possible! The end!

Yeah, that's true and it honestly never even occurred to me! "Kage" is even a Japanese blade style and I pronounce it like "Cage" b/c I didn't add it up. But then again, the company that makes it is Chinese and the designer might be as well, and they were pretty poorly treated by the Japanese in WWII as well. Have you ever visited TraditionaFilipinoWeapons.com ? I own 4 of their large blades and I absolutely LOVE them. I recently got a Gijo Wood carved club from them as well. That site single-handedly started my love affair for Filipino blades and martial arts!

I'm happy with mine. For the price it seems decent. D2 is a quality tool steel. I don't need a supersteel, I'm fine with that. It's not an exact copy of the Mako. From online specs it's a bit shorter than the Mako, the blade grind is visibly different than the Mako (which kind of goes with the contour of the handle scales), and no marking on the blade for the steel type. It's a lot better than the Chinese blades I used to get 20 years ago at flea markets.
