Jon Champion is the best commentator of English football ever, his voice his comments are Unique and he know quite a lot football His Knowledge is as good as Maldini, or Maldonado in Spanish,(La Liga)each one in its own language. Respect ❤❤❤ He knows almost everything about world leagues , emerging football players. Few people in the world do that.

Before every single VOLS game was on tv, we had John Ward and Bill Anderson on The Vol Radio Network. I remember listening to it many times on a fall afternoon with my brother and father back in the early 1980s. For all of those folks across Big Orange Country- its football time in Tennessee! I wish we could hear more of Bill Anderson in these clips as well.

When I hear Jon commenting matches, come to my mind these 4 famous funny phrases he said when I played PES 2010 in english on PS2: *LIFTS IT OVER THE KEPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER... *CHIPS IT OVER THE KEEPEEEEEEEEER... *AND THE ATTACK DIDN'T END TO NO MISTAKE! *AND THE CHANCE, EXPECTED! THEY SUM A PLOP!

Vastly underrated for his college basketball play-by-play. He called both of UCLA's winning streak enders (1968 vs. Houston, ending a 44-game winning streak in the "Game of the Century" at the Astrodome; and 1974 vs. Notre Dame, ending an 88-game winning streak)

Ward was really good, but I got tired of his trailing countdowns😳The player scored and in the end zone long b3for3 John caught up🤬Especially his bad call on ND game calling the FG good😳

I will never ever forget hunting up at Bandit Creek with my late father in the 80's and listening to this legend every Saturday. We moved to Farragut in '94 and I was blessed to meet the man every week at a local bagel shop. He hated the attention, he was a humble man. Got a signed head shot of him in '99. Gave it to my father for his birthday. Man, the nostalgia runs deep with the best announcer ever.
