Mairead Furlong is a Multi Instrumentalist and Alternative Country Singer-Songwriter from Ireland. She writes her songs primarily on guitar and piano but is also a champion violinist who toured internationally before moving to London. Following a submitted entry into a national music competition, she won and was awarded the Shure Songwriting Award in 2012 with Sony BMI. In 2015 she was a winner of the Future Music Songwriting Competition (OpenMicUK) out of 10,000 entrants in the UK. Last year Mairead performed as part of a band who played a sold out show for London's Timeout Magazine, performed back to back performances at the C2C Festival held in London's 02 Arena and recorded their new record at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studios with producer Guy Fletcher (Dire Straits). This year Mairead performed as a finalist in the London Coffee Music Project Songwriting Competition. She is currently recording her debut solo album scheduled for release early 2019.
