I don't know Dexter seems to have more fighting experience and killing other Killers, in Season 5 he says he's killed 67 people and while I've not counted I'm sure by New Blood he's gotten at least close to 80 Kills, but they are both just dudes so Joe could win, he'd just have to be careful not to let Dex get close enough to use the needle It's hard not to be biased though because Dexter is one of my favorite shows and I loved You Season 1-2 but 3 I wasn't as into and 4 I struggled to watch after the first half I kind of gave up on it, maybe I'll give it another chance one day but that does mean I want to give it to Dex every time even though technically Joe could win depending on the scenario, and New Blood Dexter is a bit more sloppy from what I remember but I still think just given his experience with hunting and killing non stop he's probably got the advantage over Joe

Joe was gaslit that he was a good boy, a knight in shining armor but in reality as we see at the end of You s4 he's cold hearted with zero empathy unlike Dexter

If anything the Joe Goldberg *from the end* of season 4 could be a seasonal antagonist, but until that point all Joe would be to Dexter is a one-episode antagonist.

Um no not close. Dexter has been trained by a homicide detective, knows advanced Jiu-jitsu, and has taken out much more dangerous killers than Joe. Dexter wouldn't have trouble with Peach like Joe did 😂........but maybe season 5 Joe might not be easy because he seemed almost like a super villain at the end of season 4 because of his new resources lol.... Dexter destroys Joe. I love the show "You" too but nah not close.

Nothing personal, but you never really make much of a case as to why this would be close. They would also never pair up. Joe kills unlikeable people, but nor murderers exclusively like Dexter does. He teams up with Miguel BEFORE Miguel killed anyone and it was with an agreement that Harrys code would guide them both. Hannah...well she had an obvious advantage over Joe as far as influencing Dexter goes.....

i disagree about comparing older dexter to the trinity killer and their relative ages. The kill count difference between dexter and trinity was much smaller (both in the hundreds btw) and their skills were way more comparable, where something like trinity being older was just enough of an edge for dexter to win against him. joe simply does not have that advantage. joe has only killed 18 people. that number is so insanely low compared to dexter that even if joe was 20 and dexter was 40-50, dexter has so much experience it would be impossible for such an amateur killer to take him down. i havent seen all of You because its not really the type of show i enjoy but ive seen a lot of summaries, and Joe is way too impulsive and unplanned of a killer to compare to someone as calculated as Dexter. Granted Dexter has his unplanned moments where things go wonky but its such a small percent of the time whereas Joe's muder history is almost full of accidents and luck and impulsive behavior

Joe is like the beta male version of Dexter

Dexter has a made a career of outsmarting and killing other dangerous killers, some far bigger and stronger than himself. Joe has spent his time killing defenceless women and old men. Joe would be one of those kills for Dexter that last only 1 episode.

Just because Dexter is older doesn't make him any less dangerous, less capable, or weaker than Joe. On the contrary, as evidenced in New Blood, Dex is still pretty fit even in his fifties being able to run and hunt deer and fight while Joe often struggles with his fitness and running and is always out of breath. He has himself admitted that he hates running and is not fit. Joe's greatest asset really is just his mind and quick thinking when it comes to killing. I mean the guy couldn't even defend himself from somebody chopping off his finger and just let it happen not even resisting a bit while Dex would never allow that to happen and he certainly wouldn't get beat up to a bloody pulp by someone that's not even way stronger than him like Joe in season 2 when he got a whooping from that little boy's abusive father and did nothing but just let his face be a punching bag.

After recently watching the original 8 seasons of Dexter, I don’t think he’s a sociopath at all. I think he was convinced/gaslit to believe he was by his adopted dad & his therapist.

I don't think Dexter would consider Peach to fit the code, even if he was bending the rules. I think Dexter gives himself more leeway than he does to other killers.

Let’s just get this out of the way…. Lagurtia wasn’t a good person she used her status just like Matthew’s to corrupt while inventions and let people off the hook to the opposite, putting people away with any evidence based off a hunch. Especially in the later seasons she is a evil person

My money is on Joe for the soul fact that Dexter is shown to be so intelligent yet he was dumping bodies in the same spot for years and is shocked when the bodies are found there for he’s an idiot

Great stuff man! Love me some Dexter content... Imo being a fan boy i think Dexter reigns supreme over Joe but i agree rhat theyre a lot more similiar and closely related/capable than a lot of Dexter fans want to admit lol
