Love the lighting system on the 61, and so happy they didn't go with the slow colour changing setup like other states. Good video

@@MrLachlan. You're welcome. With the code 3 siren will be a nice piece of equipment. Sucks the meds still got old lights, hopefully will change soon.

@@theofficialemergencyservic7881Also agree, the meds (50 units) need new lighting in my opinion, on thing I’ve noticed on the fireground over my years is that the MX7000s in pump & roll mode (Just the halogen rotators) are quite difficult to see in the smoke compared to fancy LEDs that are on the light attacks for example, but I do believe in the near future they plan to do a lighting upgrade on all future vehicles.

Just a question for any of the emergency services buffs out there. Why do emergency vehicles, especially ambulance and police, cut their sirens way before the they get to the scene? I've noticed they often cut the siren just down the road from my place and then go past with just the flashing lights on.
@0ne-6right40
@0ne-6right40 Жыл бұрын
This is a guess, but probably because they trust surrounding drivers to know that there’s an emergency nearby, and it’s obvious that they should steer clear (ie. the emergency is a warning enough, so the siren doesn’t need to be activated any longer.) As for the lights only, they don’t always stick the sirens on for the whole time for the following reasons 1. It’s late at night in a residential area, so lights only will reduce noise pollution. 2. The traffic is relatively light, so a visual warning is better. 3. They are stuck in a red light traffic jam. I have noticed this a bit my self, if an emergency vehicle is in a red light bottleneck, it’s unlikely to persuade traffic to move via the siren. Generally once the light goes green, the siren can be reactivated. All of these, especially the last one will vary between services and their EFAD training protocols, and this only a logical assumption, but this is my interpretation based on my own experiences.

That's a R.A Bell build. They use Whelen Carbide on QLD vehicles for QAS and QFRS. Code 3 DNA system for VIC and other reduce agencies can't name untill they're on the road haha.

nice footage mate, wish you stayed around. the echo appliance you filmed here was actually 115E. when the first call of it came in, 113A and 115A were assigned, but 15 station responded with 15E instead of 15A with the full perm crew of 4 about 3:05pm. at 3:47pm 111A were toned and 13 auxiliaries for 113E were paged, followed by the 114K crew jumping on 114Y and responding at 3:55pm. so in total, it was 113A, 115E, 111A, 113E and 114Y. nonetheless nice footage mate.
