I really can understand why people like that performance with that line up. Yeah, it sounds good and is entertaining. But it is NOT Genesis! As a Genesis fan for 50 years I can only say that something is missing here. I can´t put my finger on it but it just doesn´t have the Genesis vibe. Same goes for CAS. It would be a nice album for any other band but it is not a true Genesis album. The magic was gone when Phil left. They did survive Peters departure and even that of Steve (whom I admire greatly!) but when Phil left it was all over. Peter was the (lyrical) brain, Steve was the (mystical) voice but Phil was the (musical) soul of Genesis. And without a soul the body can´t keep going. Tony and Mike alone couldn´t replace all of them in the end...

His voice was actually pretty good. A shame they only did one album with him

I’ve said it many times Ray Wilson never got a fair shot. No he doesn’t sound like Phil or Peter but he did a great job. There are a few really good tunes on Calling all Stations too. I actually really enjoyed that album

Putting genesis in terms like the bond films peter gabriel genesis was like the connery years, the phil collins pop years was the moore era, the hackett minus gabriel years was the craig era, the ray wilson years was the dalton era. The first album was the Lazenby era while the 2nd was in the form of the brosnan era

Genesis reunion with Ray, Mike, Tony, Steve and Nic Collins - That's what we need!

This era of the band ( call it incarnation) is finally getting some recognition and its place in the band’s history.No matter if is not the best,Ray fitted well and some of the new songs were solid.Many of us would have loved a second album and tour but the Collins name and era was just too heavy.Still we have the videos the record and Ray’s shows!

Tony Banks was right, Ray Wilson does have a nice voice and it compliments Mike & Tony's abilities well. Nor Z does very well on the drums. I don't really think Genesis was solely about Phil Collins, I think it was about taking the 3 or 4 separate acts and basically just blending them together. Yes, Phil was a brilliant member but it's important to move on and to appreciate what Ray could bring.

Ray Wilson is a very good singer, it's a pity that the United States weren't prepared to give him more of a chance. Still, he got inducted into the Genesis family.

I absolutely adored this album fair play when Phil left Mike and Tony never gave up.

Hes good but his voice is weak. Too breathy, lacks power and when he tried to hit higher range it isnt good. Phil collins voice is just better for these songs. I do Like this singer though, just needs to sing songs in his vocal range

Unfortunately Ray Wilson had a rather unenviable task in attempting to replace someone such as the brilliant and much loved Phil Collins in Genesis. But he gave it his best shot. I stay in what is Ray's hometown of Dumfries in South West Scotland.
