No wonder he is speaking at TMU, where Emir Caner (brother to Ergun) is a proven liar and should not be a president of a Christian university. When will the trustees of these institutions look for men with integrity and honor? Stand opposed.

Bro. Waylan Owens as I used to call him at his First Pastorate in Crosby, MS from around 1997 to 1993 for almost 10 years he served a small rural Mississippi community and a congregation at that time that was flourishing. His First Pastorate while and coming out of his graduation at NOTB brought a renewed freshness of Faith in our calling as a congregation. He sparked many new things from family ministries to youth ministries that either had never been committed to or was lacking. At the age of 12 one night, I took those courageous steps down that aisle to profess my Faith and Belief in our Lord and Savior Yeshua Jesus Christ. It was a few months after that I took those second set of steps and was baptized. Now there's a story. My Dad, Senior was in charge of the baptismal pool in the choir loft. He forgot to turn off the heater the night before. I wore an old red Coca-Cola t-shirt, I was red as that shirt. Waylan was sweating like he'd come out of a sauna. Here's a great sermon of his: Great is Your Faithfulness swbts.edu/news/podcast/dr-waylan-owens-great-is-your-faithfulness-2/ Enjoy & God Bless.

"Be it further RESOLVED, That the doctrine of the priesthood of the believer in no way contradicts the biblical understanding of the role, responsibility, and authority of the pastor which is seen in the command to the local church in Hebrews 13:17, “Obey your leaders, and submit to them; for they keep watch over your souls, as those who will give an account." ---(SBC should have dropped authority and put a period after pastor. Done!).---The "dictatorship" of the pulpit passed! As evidenced by history, most people favor power consolidated in one person, whether it's the pulpit or in government. "Priesthood of the believer " is, in a secular sense, "Of the People; by the People, for the People." It's a statement of Liberty. As defined in the resolution, the "power of the people" is crushed by the dictatorship of the pastor. How many times have you heard a pastor say, "we'll handle 'this' behind the scenes."

Interesting this preacher is talking about attacking one another, let no corrupt communication come out of your mouth…when at the same time he’s preaching from a modern translation in which historically Baptist churches rejected! Remove the KJ Bible, there is no castle nor wall; look at what removing away from Gods Word has done for the SBC… This man is seeing the sickness and not the reason for the sickness. Now, he’s a smooth speaker and orator but powerless in projection. The Kj Bible is to make the man perfect, see Paul’s writing to Timothy in ch. 3, when it’s removed from the pulpit one just has elaborate ear tickling… This is why bro. A. Roger’s was so effective in ministry, he never left the KJ Bible… SBC went from truth to R. Warrens 40 days of…

This is EXACTLY what has happened to the SBC. Today a wall exists which has disallowed any influence of the SBC in the lives of everyday people in America. Southern Baptists are known by the culture around them to be judgemental, spiritually superior, white and unwelcoming towards anyone who is not like them.

Good grief! If I watched this without knowing what was going on, I would think this was a comedian/actor doing a mocking imitation of the stereotypical Southern evangelical TV preacher. He's even wearing what appears to be a very expensive boutique watch. Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. And that creepy smile! It amazes me how anyone can take these guys, or the religion they represent, seriously.

“I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.” - John 13:34-35 (NASB) That should be all I’d need to say, but just in case the point doesn’t get across, here it is, plain and simple: this is absolutely SHAMEFUL. And I am NOT talking about what Dr. Patterson said. Oh, no, I’m speaking of the comments left here in this section. You people sit here and judge this man who happens to have a speck in his eye, while the whole time you’re snacking people around left and right with the log hanging out of yours! Just so we’re clear, THIS IS NOT LOVE!!! The Bible-which is an ABSOLUTE, and NOT an, “opinion,” as one commenter would have you believe-is VERY clear about what love is: “Love is PATIENT, love is KIND, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is NOT ARROGANT. It DOES NOT ACT DISGRACEFULLY, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, DOES NOT KEEP AN ACCOUNT OF A WRONG SUFFERED, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NASB). This is absolutely disgraceful coming from people who CLAIM to be “Christians,” and followers of Christ. Stop following, start committing-become a disciple. People whose lives are committed to Jesus Christ don’t do this! Loving God means loving what God loves, and that’s PEOPLE; people like Dr. Patterson-regardless of his failures or their faults. Stop faith-shaming people for the way they believe and start loving them like we were COMMANDED, BY JESUS to do.

Those who find it so important to defend this man: please. He doesn't need your defense. In a fantasy world where men are exploited at the rate that women are, where men are talked about the way women are talked about, where men are abused at the rate that women are, maybe this man would need your defense. But in this world, I beg you to have compassion for women.

@Skipbo000
@Skipbo000 Жыл бұрын
absolutely yes. Jesus spoke against the Jewish priests who used the law against the people, to judge the people in order to establish a place of superiority for themselves. In their attempt to enforce the Law as they knew it, they refused many from entering the Temple deeming them unworthy to receive God. Thy pridefully and sinfully equated themselves as God's judges on Earth, their way was God's way, their beliefs were God's belief and anyone who was against them was against God himself. EXACTLY what is going on today in every SBC church in America, still a mostly white, heterosexual, male dominated institution which has made no place for women or anyone who isn't like them. Single men are considered broken in some way, black people are inferior due to race, women are the weaker, lesser gender and gay people are blocked entirely. This equates to a denomination which is racist, misogynistic and homophobic - none of which describes the Son of God. They believe that God hates like they hate and they believe that God prefers one type of person over all others. The SBC has been taken over by the pride of priviledged, ignorant white men; many of whom are self-hating, closeted homosexuals as the recent sexual scandals have proven.

@@Skipbo000 “If anyone approaches God with an idol they have set up in their hearts … he will answer them according to their idol” A scary truth for all of us … without our hearts in the right place the Bible itself will only show us what we want to see … Lord show us what we cannot see - May Your light shine in my heart to reveal where I am and where you would have me be … amen

New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) Watch the KZbin video “The New Covenant” by Bob George.
