We rented a room at an expensive hotel in the mountans, and they asked us if we want street side or mountan side - which costs more. We chose the mountain view, and our view was literally a bunch of trees and the ground - the hotel backed up practically onto the mountain. Next time we got a street view and we could see the beautiful town, a creek and several mountains behind all of it.

Having a kinda rough day in the shop today, started thinking about my late father, looking at the bikes and the hotrods scattered about, and I drifted off in my head to the notorious howl of the K7 GSXR1000 as it fights for traction out of a corner with only the right wrist keeping the proverbial hand of god at bay from shoving the rear end right out from under you at the top of 3rd as it paints a big fat black line behind you. What I would give to go back, just for one afternoon during the liter bike "power wars", pre electronic era. Spending the morning watching some racing highlights and then going out and spending the afternoon torching a couple tanks (and usually half the life of a Michelin Pilot Power) wearing down the knee sliders trying to be as cool as SBK racers. Matt and Ben with Suzuki back then were in quite magnificent form, truly pushing the limits in ways that showcased the dominance of the team on a world scale. I'll forever remember THAT time in my lifetime being my "golden era" of motorcycles. Thanks for uploading this, even if it's 14 years later that I'm commenting, teary eyed and pining over the "good old days". All my motorcycle hero's passed away, retired, or are estranged. I knew eventually it would happen, but, realizing it still hits kinda hard in the feelings. Thanks for reading my blog. lol
