Golden pavillon is not in the top ten? Only because of the crowds?
@MadTravelerСағат бұрын
Correct. It's obviously beautiful but it wasn't one of my favorites due to huge crowds when we visited.

For the most part...with the exception of parts of NYC (such as upper east side), Westchester County, all along the Hudson Valley and parts of the capital region of NY..... New York is crap poor. The New York government only cares about New York city.

At 2:45, sign board reads as follows: 'Today, we are only accepting customers with reservations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.'" I am Japanese. I am truly sorry that you had such an experience. I am also very upset by this employee's attitude. He lacks proper education and is not suited for the service industry.
@MadTraveler2 күн бұрын
Thank you. As I said, I love Japan and 99.9% of our encounters were very positive. That's why I was so surprised this happened. The young man wanted to provoke a fight with me but I really don't know why. All they had to do was tell us where the town parking lot was but instead they told us to "get out" and then the young guy started pushing me. Crazy!

I was born in Niagara Falls NY. That city was destroyed by political corruption, organized crime, careless urban renewal, deindustrialization, and environmental degradation. It is becoming more like Gary IN and East St Louis IL with the decay and abandonment. Gang violence is a grave problem in Niagara Falls. Poverty and unemployment remain serious problems. Pine Avenue is more a Little Los Angeles than it is a Little Italy. Most of the Italian community has moved out of Niagara Falls. There used to be a Polish community in Niagara Falls but like the Italians, most of the Poles have left Niagara Falls.

There's a different language spoken by many people living in Wales, it's not just an accent, a Celtic language from the same family derived from the old language of the British isles, once spoken across what is now England. It's a beautiful thing to hear, the sound of the ancient Britons.

FYI.. Dr Henry Merletti passed away long ago and hasn't owned that building for close to 10 years. But if you want to know what happened to Niagara Falls... it was NY politics and the Power Authority. Poor Democrat leadership!😊
@jollygreen46395 күн бұрын
It wasn’t democratic or republican leadership, in my opinion. It was whoever was in office at any given time. All part time, retired or whatever people as mayor or council members. They all just let it go down more and more.

While the Canadian side might be doing miles ahead of the USA side...but surprisingly even the Canadian Niagra Falls has its sketchyness to it. Some streets just off the tourist stretch are run down, or even abandon, even the downtown, which is not the actual toursit part of Niagra Falls but rather a few blocks east of the tourist area has a bunch of empty buildings on the bottom half of it , it has its homelessness and a lot of drug usage, and even drug dens. Its strange because there is so much beauty around it, but the city its self is a bit of a mix mash of town with a city vibe, beauty with the ugly.
@MadTraveler8 күн бұрын
True! But having Niagara on the Lake and the Parkway and some very pretty parks nearby draws a lot of tourists for them. But I agree that the city of NF, Ontario is not very attractive.

Just got back from Japan and will have to say there are too many tourists. At times I forgot I was even in Japan and it really detracted from the traditional and cultural vibe of the location.

@josephcline365216 күн бұрын
He isn't interrupting the guy at all. He's clarifying his questions to probe for information. That's just talking normally. "Good for you" isn't an automatically insulting or sarcastic phrase in the USA. You're assuming this guy is being mean for no reason. If you find this guy annoying, you're the one with the problem. He isn't hurting anyone.
