Duku Chandong asalnya dari kaum Iban,ada juga di sesetengah daerah dipanggil duku latok....kegunaan memburu,kerja kerja ringan kebun,masuk hutan...kenapa lentik? Untuk pemotongan ataupun menetak di tempat rata bahagian mata kena dulu dan bahagian hulunya yang dipegang tangan tak kena dan lebar berat dibahagian hujung memudahkan memotong dan gegaran tak sampai di bahagian hulu,itulah fungsi lentiknya daripada parang lurus

Because of the blade angle, wouldn't the village parang be better at slicing? For example, if you were limbing a small tree, the duku chandong would chop through branches but the village parang would slice them off? What do you think?

A lot depends on the user when applying the striking force. Duku Chandong requires force-control with its gradual and slight curve blade, but with the Village Chandong, the pronounced canted blade angle makes easy work for de-limbing, chopping and slicing. I am leaning towards Village Chandong more day by day.

@@UnkerBuzz This is what I've been thinking. I am leaning more towards the village chandong myself because my parang will be mostly used for delimbing, slicing, debarking, clearing foliage, and slight chopping. Thank you for the response. 🙏

Hi one question.. what kind of series is this? This MyParang has a curve... a rounded crescent shape before the blade starts! It gives you a secure grip so you don't slip.. very nice with this model in the video.. where did you get it from? Do you sell models like this? I don't know of any shop that offers these, they all have a slanted straight edge.. could you help me? greetings

Looking at Florida nature outdoor images, I'd say Village Chandong 12". Parang Lading for agility while Duku Chandong or Village Chandong for hard use. Village Chandong will be at home in Florida's nature almost similar to Singapore/Malaysia humid climate And personally, I'm leaning towards Village Chandong.

@@UnkerBuzz thanks for the quick response! I’ll respond when I have it in my hands. Yeah it seems that floridas climate it’s similar to Malaysia, for example now in summer it’s really hot and humid with a loth of rain but then in winter is has cold has 1 Celsius. Cesar.

Oh yes .. it's hot, hotter and hottest here with perennial rain. Btw, on the Village Chandong unsharpened section, you can wrap it with a soft grip-tape for a more comfortable choke-up hand position. I do that for food prep. Use the widest part of the blade to smash your garlic, potatoes and onions. And the handle to chop helluv anything ..

Duku is the substitute for parang. Chandung is the model or type of the parang. To call it parang duku chandung is rather redundant.

Posisi mengendalikan duku candung Salah la tuan. Posisi badan kena mencangkung. Baru selamat. Kalau membongkok macam ni, boleh merbahayakan si pengguna. Kalau benda Yang hendak d potong atau Di tetak berada Di dasar. Kena mencangkung. Hayunan mengikut berat duku itu sendiri. Jangan hayun terlalu kuat Dan genggaman mengikut keselesaan. Baru tak kuat begegar Di pergelangan tangan. Kalau hendak potong benda tinggi, baru boleh posisi macam ni👍...
