Nice mods! I got my Gretsch Electromatic Pristine (but in Mako color - some FFVII vibes goin' :D) less than two weeks ago and after watching your video went on a modding spree myself! My tuners were actually quite good (they remind me of Gotoh actually) but I swapped them anyways for Gotoh 381 Locking Tuners with the same tuner tips. Then I got the String Butler V1, that replaces the truss rod cover, to ensure a straight string pull behind the nut. I also put ol' Abe Lincoln 1 cent under the Bigsby spring (replaced the washer) to make it more stable. One last thing will be a trip to my luthier to have those bridge and nut slots cut correctly. One day I may also swap the brigde - not for a roller but probably for GraphTech Resomax. Unfortunately couldn't find a gold string spoiler in Europe but not having any problems with restringing the Bigsby. I only wonder why they put B50 on an archtop instead of something like B30 or B70, designed for these guitars. I'm glad I watched your video before swapping the straplocks (have some old Schallers in my guitar closet). I will have to ask my luthier about that. As for the pickups - try lowering them down a bit and then pulling the polepieces out a bit. I have adjusted them like that and it chimes. Also remember to set the polepieces according to string loudness - Low E is loudest, A quieter and D even more quiet. From G the pattern repeats. So you set the polepieces like that: E lowest, A a bit higher and D even higher. You repeat the pattern from G, but start even lower (G is the loudest string). The filtertron polepieces are adjusted according to the radius from the factory, but it actually throws off the balance - in that scenario the G is very loud.

@@eMKayJR Sweet! Sounds like you made some nice mods. I actually wanted the Mako but found a great deal on the Petrol. I haven’t had any issues with the nut yet but I’ll definitely be cutting or swapping it in the future. And I’ll definitely try adjusting the pups per your recommendation. Thanks for the support!

@@RyanAdams1 Sweet! I love them both for different reasons. Both necks feel great but I prefer the neck of my S2 standard over both. The problem I have with DGT is that it can't hit high notes. The guitar sounds like it can only play low notes. If I play the rock music, or modern music, it just sounds too dark and boring.

@@JoonKimDMD I agree that the DGT is warm and can be a bit dark. But you can brighten it up by changing some amp settings. Also try raising the pickups and maybe change the strings to 9’s.
