Love the fitting video and this one. The one question i have is "with how specific this putter is made for you, how would one ever buy one used?"
@TinkerGolfMan2 күн бұрын
Great question! You could still buy a used one, and send it over to LAB directly and they can make the adjustments necessary.

@@TinkerGolfMan interesting. Thank you for the answer!

Talk about confirmation bias, this video is awesome! You can see the night and day difference in the “clout” putter vs one that actually helps you sink putts! Ordered my LAB at the beginning of June and I can’t wait for that sucker to show up!

Good video but you’re comparing apples to oranges. Phantom vs LAB would provide more equitable feedback for viewers to use as they see fit.

Nice vid, QQ - even though both are 33” long you have a 70 deg lie angle on the Scotty vs 74 on the DF3. Did LAB fit you into 74, and if so, perhaps you would be more consistent with the Scotty bent up to 74 if that lie angle is a better match for you? I have a Link1 and I’m struggling with distance control, I think it might just be too heavy for me. I may consider a DF3 with lighter weight build, also checking out Edel fitting.
@paulcarrigan6917 күн бұрын
I'm very interested in the lie angle difference too. If you submit the video, as they suggest, for the online fitting it's just a video of a guy with a bog standard lie putter from any store. Unless they see where your balls are going they'll never know what lie angle to fit you with....
@s5quantum60724 күн бұрын
The fact that u been gaming the Scotty for years and u just whip the DF3 out with more consistency is impressive

No expert here, but just overall, mallet putters are far more stable than blades. I switched from a mallet to a SC blade and I can tell the difference. I like my SC and putt well with it. I think it's based on the putting skill level of the user. To the eye, the blade looks sleeker which psychologically enhances confidence, that's important too. For beginners, mallets should be the go-to.

Great video! How tall are you?

You found out like I did. LAB putter more consistent, even more so as time goes on. It takes time to get over compensation from using a anser style putter with head rotation

I have done extensive testing all versions of lab putters versus my scotty newport 2 and i ended up making more and having better control with scotty. I think a lot of this depends on your stroke. People that struggle with putting will benefit from a lab, but more precise putters will not see the benefit - that was my finding. Lab makes great putters, but like all clubs, it may not be for everyone. I also found the lab (all versions) to have less feedback and distance control was not as good as my scotty. I do think there lab can help the majority of golfers with poor strokes, however, when you're dialed in with the putter, nothing beats the feel, balance, look, and framing of the ball than a scotty.
@adrianfromthecastleАй бұрын
how does it match up to the TM spider tour?
@TinkerGolfManАй бұрын
Similar in the sense it's a mallet style head, although the technology in the LAB is far superior with the no rotation.

I love the look too but just wasn’t getting the start lines i wanted. Switched to the df 3 this week and first round i had 23 putts. 13 one putts and the rest were 2 putts. Only hit 7 gir and made 5 of them for bird. Shot a career best 75. I usually average 33-36 putts per round. This is going to be game changing i believe.

Looked like you were over rotating with Scotty. Get a little larger grip and you may see some of those left misses go in.

i did the online fitting and discussed that back and forth with the fitter who was super responsive. Ended up with a DF3, TPT shaft in Platinum. Have played it now for a couple weeks and absolutely love it. 50 years of battling the figure 8 back swing is gone.. on rails. So good.

Not much available in Canada to try. Couldn't stomach spending that much or committing long term without trying. And definitely didn't want to get used since these are fitted for lie angle. Ended up with a jailbird mini after trying everything. Hopefully they become more popular and I can try some next time I need a putter (hopefully never)

Honesty, the technology is really good. Specially the heads not moving around! And they can really dial in the softness or firmness you want in a putter! Should be more people on this!

So glad you had a chance to play Bandon's "Other" course! It's a privately owned Public course that welcomes all players and is well-loved by locals, including many of the caddies and employees from the big resort down the road. Just to brag, GOLF magazine listed it in the Top 100 courses in the US under $150.

I like this grip only when the logo is upside down. The asymmetrical design when the logo is facing down puts a oval shape of the softer synthetic leather right where the left thumb would be. Allows me to have a very sturdy and relaxed left thumb and helps me grip my club the same every time. When the logo is facing up you don't get that oval of synthetic leather where the thumb would be.
