Man don’t tell me that.. Really? What did you end up doing to fix it? Replacing the heater core?

@LS_Dusty I've not done a heater core replacement since it's either too costly to bring into a shop and too time consuming for myself. This is also basically my last winter with this truck since my driving habits no longer require diesel and do it no favors either. I bought a kit to flush and agitate it with air. Luckily I was in a shop and had access to hot water which helped. I flushed it for about 4 hrs until it finally ran clean. Worked like new for a couple months before it started to taper off again. This winter I again, have little to no heat on the coldest days (below 0). I've looked into it quite a bit and there's just something wrong with the heater cores that causes this build up. It builds up again but the worst part is that even if you flush it, you still run the risk of this stuff cycling out of the heater core and getting into more of the system. It's a notorious issue with ram and eventually requires a heat core replacement, anything other than oem.

@ thanks, I removed my pan yesterday and put one bung on the front and one on top of the oil sensor . Going to use one or the other and just cap it so when I decide which one to use I have it done and dont need to go thru that shit show again ( dropping the diff and removing the steering idle bar to get access, cleaning cleaning and cleaning everything and putting new gaskets on everything while at it) lol
