Legendborn is in my tbr so that’s kinda disappointing to hear. Based off your description I feel like I wouldn’t like it. I think you gave it 3 stars so I’ll keep it on the tbr and give it a try…eventually 😅 All the sinner bleed is also on my tbr and I’m excited to read it but maybe I’ll listen to it based off how many characters there are. I be forgetting people too quickly if they’re not a regular in the book. Also I have Blood at the Root now! So I’m ready to read when you are. 🎉🎉🎉

Oh nooo definitely still read Legendborn! I think it was me, not the book. It deserves a re-read from me and I really want to like it. The audio for All the Sinners Bleed is pretty good. I think reading it with your eyes along with the audio might be a good experience. Oooh yessss! I just finished a book today so I'm free to start tomorrow if you'd like :D

I read Legendborn and felt that same way that it is a book that you annotate and I don't annotate books. I am planning to read the second book in the series. I like that for your summary of the book you give three keywords and don't tell us too much about the book because I like to go into a book as blind as possible. I too enjoyed Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. I am purchasing When I Think of You just to see how I feel about the main male character.

I need to get into Mimi Grace’s work and check out the country boy romance. 😍 If you enjoy Yellow Wife (I love that cover!) and Take My Hand, consider Wench x Dolen Perkins Valdez. Yellow Wife trumped Wench for me but if you’re in the mood for similar subject matter and emotional condition, I recommend it. I knew how disappointing The Other Black Girl was for many people but I had to read it because I wanted to watch the show. I wasn’t disappointed but indifferent. I enjoyed the show more but I do wonder if having read the book influenced my enjoyment. Bunny was a new reading experience for me. I was kind of agitated when I was done reading but I couldn’t get the book out of my head. The more I thought about it the more I realized I enjoyed it. I’ve been wanting to reread it! Such A Fun Age x Kiley Reid had me feeling a similar way. Looking forward to follow ups on the books. Thanks for sharing and happy reading!
@AnitaLibrary
@AnitaLibrary 7 күн бұрын
The one book I read from Mimi Grace felt like in between urban romance and contemporary romance if that makes sense. I really like the experience. I am very much a sucker for a black country boy romance right now lol yes please. The cover for Yellow Wife is gorgeous! I know there’s some heavy subject matter but I definitely like to explore those kinds of stories every so often so I will add your recs to my list! I didn’t even realize it was a show! I think I halfway scraped off the Hulu sticker lol but yea it doesn’t seem to be fairing well with those who’ve read it but I’m still willing to read it and see for myself. I am actually intimidated to read Bunny. I got it for an out of my comfort zone book because I don’t know how the horror genre is gonna sit with me (I’m a scaredy cat lol) but I looove dark academia so I wanna give it a go. I did hear it was a bit weird/strange so that kinda intrigued me more. I have started chipping away at this TBR already (yay me!) so stay tuned for my thoughts! Thanks for your awesome comment :)

I read the Other Black Girl and it was mid. I gave it like 2.5. Endings are everything for me and the ending took such a weird turn. I wasn’t feeling it. I feel you on having any kind of series that don’t match. I had the first two books of The Glided Ones series but the third one is only out as a hardback. The guy at the store had the nerve to suggest having a mixture 👀 umm no thank you, I’ll wait for the paperback. I think the series you’re talking about actually has a kinda similar story/feel to the one I’m referring to. I would recommend The Gilded Ones and I wanna read the ones you have. The covers are stunning.

@@AnitaLibrary gurl without even trying I have like 3 scary/thriller books on my TBR. I’m currently reading Then She Was Gone…which I’m low key getting scared reading bc I’m so worried what’s gonna happen next. Then my friend gave me The Woman Left Behind which I think is a thriller and then I have Verity to read which she described as a jump scare book. 😬 it’s the season I guess hahah

@@Rebeccas.reality You are a very brave soul! Because jump scares?! I can't handle it lolol but yes it is the season for thrillers for sure. I just finished The Only One Left. I've been reading thrillers/fantasy so much lately so I am due for a fluffy/emotional read.

@@Rebeccas.realityit was decent. I have come to the conclusion that I am “thrillered out” lolol but taking that into consideration, I’m probably gonna give it a 3.5. The twists were twisting, I will say that. It wasn’t very high stakes to me and the main character seemed like a busy body for most of the book and I don’t really love that so that’s why it didn’t hit too much for me besides the ending.

Allegedly I’m reading now less than 100 pages to go it is definitely serious trauma how this is targeted as a YA dunno. I am very intrigued a page turner for me 😊

Seriously! All of her books are marketed as YA and I’m like…how?! They hit so hard. But they are all really good books for sure.

I actually think there is a book called “The Book”. And it has a second called “The Sequel” lol. Iron Flame definitely felt like it whacked me over the head with a lot of info but little depth. I need a redemption for the series immediately!
